A Strong America
Veterans Walk Out on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Democrat from New York 'knocks the country, she knocks the president — that's not what America is about,' said one of our country's heroes after a private meeting
They couldn’t take it anymore.
Newly minted lawmaker Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) (shown above, beside White House counselor Kellyanne Conway) bashed America’s foreign policy during a private meeting last week with Bronx community leaders.
Two military veterans had had it up to here with her anti-American verbiage — and decided to walk out on her.
“She knocks the country, she knocks the president. And that’s not what America is about,” said Silvio Mazzella, 74.
He’s a Vietnam War veteran and the treasurer of Community Board 11, as The New York Post reported this weekend about the incident.

Anthony Vitaliano, 78 — an Army veteran who worked for 38 years in the New York Police Department and commanded the Bronx’s homicide detectives — was sitting between Ocasio-Cortez and a staffer for the freshman lawmaker, The Post noted.
“I just couldn’t hear her BS anymore,” he told the publication. “I just got up, got my umbrella in my hand, and walked right out.”
The self-described socialist blasted the U.S. policy of providing bombs to Saudi Arabia, which has supported Yemen’s government in a brutal civil war, according to attendees, The Post noted.
And some blamed her for not mentioning and including the roles of other nations in explaining the violence in the region.
“Talking [against] America, that really turned me off completely,” said Mazzella, who said he fought in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.
Mazzella also told “Fox & Friends” that AOC’s remarks reminded him of the protests he faced when he first returned to America from war.
“Didn’t feel good. It reminds me when I came home from ‘Nam and we had the protesters here. You know that’s not the way to treat people,” he said.
Vitaliano said that Ocasio-Cortez also referred to President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “two clones” — and not in a positive manner — as The Daily Caller reported.
An Ocasio-Cortez spokesperson denied that any veterans walked out of the private meeting, but the military men stand by their words and deeds.
The veterans’ rebuff of the Democrat lawmaker and her attacks on America occurred just ahead of the 75th anniversary this week — on June 6 — of D-Day, one of the most successful military invasions ever.
June 6, 1944, marks the day that nearly 160,000 American, British, and Canadian forces landed on five beaches on the heavily guarded coast of France’s Normandy region during World War II — one of the largest amphibious military assaults ever.
Operation Overload launched the successful invasion of German-occupied Western Europe.
