Trump Admin. Removes 300 Children from Border Facility

Kids had been at detention center for three weeks, attorneys said; these young people should return home

Here’s the situation.

These young people have been brought to this country or sent here by adults who care nothing for their well-being.

It is not on the United States to provide for illegal immigrant children until they are of age, in my view.

We need to enforce the law and send them back to their places of origin.

We do not have concentration camps at the southern border between the United States and Mexico. They are detention facilities, not condos or luxury hotels.

Americans are being told to take a back seat to better conditions because Democrats want to show the optics of being a caring political party that wants nothing but the best for these migrant kids.

However, look at our own people around the country — those who have experienced years of unfilled promises by these same lawmakers. If I were a migrant, I wouldn’t think of going to America.

The government claims to have the answers to everything, but these lawmakers don’t know where to start when it comes to America’s own.

If some migrant children are dealing with adverse conditions at the detention facilities, is not because of President Trump. Once again, the opposition media give Congress a pass — even though it has the authority to fix the border crisis.

Instead, they blame the president.

The federal government has removed some 300 children from a Border Patrol facility in Texas after reports of unsanitary and overcrowded conditions.

Just 30 children remain at the facility near El Paso, Rep. Veronica Escobar, a Democrat representing El Paso County, told the Associated Press. The children have been taken to a tent detention center, where they will be held until they can be placed with the Department of Health and Human Services, officials with the Department of Homeland Security said, according to NBC News.

Immigration lawyers who visited the Border Patrol station last week said older children were caring for toddlers and babies, and children said they had gone weeks without showering or changing into a fresh set of clothes. Data obtained by the AP showed that 15 of the children had the flu and 10 more were quarantined.

Some of the children had been at the facility for three weeks, the lawyers said, in violation of rules governing the detention of children. Under federal rules, Border Patrol can only hold children for 72 hours before they are transferred to HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement, which houses migrant children in facilities around the country. I understand the move, which is to satisfy Democrats.

But how about starting the deportation of these illegal border crossers to satisfy Americans — or, more specifically, your voter base?
