Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), the majority whip, predicted the House will eventually impeach President Donald Trump — disclosing that the Democrats intend to “educate” the American people so that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will be able to conduct an “ironclad” vote.

During a segment on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Clyburn proceeded boldly where Pelosi has often tried to temper expectations.

Pelosi often conveys that impeachment is not a viable option, citing the lack of support among the American voter and the political ramifications it would entail.

Clyburn, however, revealed that the process has already begun.

“What Nancy Pelosi is trying to do, and the rest of us in the House of Representatives, is to develop a process by which we can efficiently move on this issue so that when we get to a vote, it would be something that she calls ironclad, I call effective,” he stated.

“I think we’ve already begun,” admitted Clyburn.

“We’ve got all of these committees doing their work. We’re having hearings.”

Better yet, while Pelosi is apparently trying to hide her intentions from the people, Clyburn revealed that really, if you’re not on board with the pursuit of impeachment, you’re just not smart enough to understand.

Who do you think would win the Presidency?

“We do believe that if we sufficiently, effectively educate the public, then we will have done our jobs, and we can move on an impeachment vote and it will stand, and maybe it will be what needs to be done to ‘incent’ the Senate to act,” he said.

Is it any wonder Pelosi is trying to keep things quiet? Impeaching a president whom a majority of Americans don’t want to see impeached, then telling those same voters that they’re just too stupid to understand, isn’t going to work out very well.

Pressuring Pelosi. If Clyburn’s comments are true, then public pressure from the resistance party and one wayward Republican is apparently working.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) recently told Pelosi that she needs to do the “patriotic” thing and impeach President Trump.

Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) lowered the standards for impeachment to encapsulate “violat[ing] the public trust” in his call to move forward.

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough compared Pelosi’s effort to impeach with that of Lincoln’s freeing the slaves.

And at the California Democratic Party’s convention this past weekend, she was interrupted by hecklers demanding that she take down the fairly elected president, despite investigations that cleared him of collusion or obstruction of justice.

During her speech, Pelosi hinted at what Clyburn has alleged.

“This isn’t about politics, it isn’t about partisanship, Democrats versus Republicans, no,” she said of a fabricated “cover-up.” “It’s about patriotism, it’s about the sanctity of the Constitution, and it’s about the future of our nation.”

“We will go where the facts lead us,” she continued. “We will insist on the truth. We will build an ironclad case to act.”

Make no mistake: Pelosi is heading down a path by which Trump will eventually be the subject of an impeachment vote in the House.

Should it get through, Republican senators have already vowed to crush the effort.
