They may not live this down any time soon.

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday night mocked Democrats in the House for using a chicken theme to go after Attorney General William Barr, even suggesting during his show that President Donald Trump could win re-election in November 2020 with these types of Democratic “sick burns.”

Barr did not appear on Thursday in front of the House Judiciary Committee. He testified for more than five hours on Wednesday as Democrats repeatedly went after his credibility and his actions connected to the rollout of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report after nearly two years of investigation. The Mueller report found no collusion by President Donald Trump or members of his 2016 campaign staff.

Barr and Democratic lawmakers could not agree on the terms of the Thursday hearing. One of the biggest sticking points was that Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) wanted to have House Judiciary Committee staff — rather than members of Congress — further question Barr about his handling of the Mueller report.

Barr’s decision not to appear on Thursday prompted Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) to bring a ceramic chicken to the hearing — as well as a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Cohen also called the attorney general of the United States “Chicken Barr.”

“The attorney general is here,” Cohen said as he pointed at the bucket, the chicken, and the empty seat meant for Barr. He then began munching on some of the KFC.

Comedian Kimmel didn’t go for this.

“Wow, what a sick burn that is,” Kimmel told his audience on Thursday night. “Trump’s gonna win again with stuff like that, isn’t he?”

“Trump’s gonna win again with stuff like that, isn’t he?” said Kimmel.

Reacting to Kimmel’s comments, one person wrote on YouTube, “The shame is [that] Kimmel has more sense than most of the Democrats.”

Trevor Noah, host of “The Daily Show,” for his part took the “chicken” opportunity to rip into President Donald Trump.

Noah said the chicken “stunt” wouldn’t bring back Barr — but it might bring forward the commander-in-chief.

“It will get Donald Trump to come and see Congress,” Noah said. “He saw that KFC bucket and was like, ‘Fuel up Air Force One. We’re going to Congress.'”

And “Late Night” host Seth Meyers mocked Democrat Cohen for the too-obvious message that Barr was a “chicken.”

“Dude, if you want KFC, just order KFC. It’s fine,” Meyers said on Thursday night. “You don’t need to tie it in to the hearing.”
