A current CNN employee is shredding pseudo-journalist Jim Acosta just as the reporter’s forthcoming new book makes clear his anti-Trump bias.
The title alone of Acosta’s book, “The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America,” reveals, in our view, that it will be a one-sided attack on President Donald Trump, who frequently refers to the “fake news” media as the enemy.
If you’re saving pennies to purchase this literary gem, note that it comes out on June 11.
In the meantime, Acosta’s publisher, Harper Collins, has released this official description (in part): “From CNN’s veteran Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta, an explosive, first-hand account of the dangers he faces reporting on the current White House while fighting on the front lines in President Trump’s war on truth.”
“In Mr. Trump’s campaign against what he calls ‘fake news,’ CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta is public enemy number one.”

The first takeaway here in our view is, holy cow — this guy actually views himself as some sort of war hero fighting the oppressive regime that is the Trump administration.
He’s a warrior only in his own mind, however.
There have been times Acosta’s been so bent on “fighting the Establishment” that he’s walked out of press briefings practically teary-eyed.
The second takeaway is how an employee of the very network Acosta works for told Fox News that insiders are pretty much embarrassed by Acosta.
Shredding Private Acosta. The CNN employee stated that while Acosta is asking important questions, he tends to “grandstand” and make everything about himself. That’s the exact opposite organizations want from a reporter assigned to the White House.
“People get tired of it,” the unnamed staffer complained. “Acosta is supposed to be a correspondent reporting the facts, but you can’t tell the difference between him and a paid pundit.”
Actually, you can’t tell the difference between Acosta and a paid member of the Democratic National Committee.
“If we don’t have to talk about Jim Acosta, we don’t talk about Jim Acosta.”
The employee added that Acosta generates “eye-rolling” throughout the newsroom on a typical basis, but nobody there is really discussing his new book.
“If we don’t have to talk about Jim Acosta, we don’t talk about Jim Acosta,” this individual said.
For those of us having to cover his bias, we wish it were that easy.
Other CNN complaints. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard complaints from colleagues about Acosta’s antics.
In this video footage of Jim “fighting on the front lines” — er, we mean, shouting from the back of a room obnoxiously — those in attendance do their best to get him to shut up.

Steve Krakauer, a former senior digital producer for CNN, last year blasted Acosta for this incident, referring to him as “truly an embarrassment, on multiple levels.”
Krakauer added that Acosta “give[s] all good journalists a bad name.”
Truth to power. At least one organization believes Acosta truly is fighting a war for the truth.
The New York Press Club will be awarding Acosta a prestigious “Truth to Power” journalism award at its annual dinner in June.
A press release indicates the award is meant to honor “an individual whose body of work challenges the power establishment and/or defends journalists.”
His own colleagues at CNN don’t even believe that garbage.
