Trump Might Release Illegal Aliens into Sanctuary Cities
Confirming that the idea remains under 'strong' consideration at the White House, the president continues to fight the toughest battle
Let’s see how the Left likes it.
President Donald Trump on Friday confirmed that his administration’s idea of releasing immigrant detainees into sanctuary cities across America is still under “strong” consideration.
Trump also tweeted that relocating illegal immigrants to such areas of the country should make the “Radical Left” happy.
The comments followed reports in The Washington Post that the White House had suggested sending such detainees to sanctuary cities twice over the last six months.
“The proposal was first floated in November amid reports of a large migrant caravan from Central America making its way to the southern border,” as Fox News reported. “The idea was again considered in February, amid the standoff with Congress over a border wall.”

The Post said the plan was rejected both times. Yet Trump suggested on Friday that the proposal is not dead and buried.
“Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only,” Trump wrote.

“The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy—so this should make them very happy!” he continued in his tweet.
Later in the day, Trump repeated those remarks at the White House.
“We can give them an unlimited supply … Let’s see if they have open arms,” he said.
Those on the Left naturally fumed about this idea.
“The extent of this administration’s cynicism and cruelty cannot be overstated,” spokesperson Ashley Etienne said for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a statement on Friday. “Using human beings — including little children — as pawns in their warped game to perpetuate fear and demonize immigrants is despicable, and in some cases, criminal.”
“The American people have resoundingly rejected this administration’s toxic anti-immigrant policies,” she added, “and Democrats will continue to advance immigration policies that keep us safe and honor our values.”
But White House officials are emphasizing that the plan “never went anywhere.”
“A source familiar with discussions told Fox News that Democrats who advocate leniency toward illegal immigrants should work with the administration to find ways to transport those set for release, including in their states and districts,” Fox News reported.
Throughout his time in the White House, Trump has criticized sanctuary cities and those who run them, as these individuals and localities refuse to cooperate with federal immigration agencies on illegal immigrants.
