Ocasio-Cortez Slams Green New Deal Critics, Says Grandchildren ‘Will Not’ Be Laughing

New York's Democratic socialist turned a harsh eye on naysayers: 'How many years until the world ends again?'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday night talked to her growing supporter base about the Green New Deal.

She suggested during an Instagram live session that people might be making fun of it now — but that their grandchildren won’t be laughing in the future when her predictions come to pass.

AOC told people how the “internet documents everything” — and that those who are challenging her ideas to help save the country will see their challenges come back to bite them later.

How many years until the world ends again?

Here is some of what she said:

We have 12 years left to cut emissions by at least 50 percent, if not more, and for every one who wants to make a joke about that, you may laugh — but your grandkids will not.

So, understand that the internet documents everything.

You know, you want to look about — you want to talk about looking at the back of history, looking backward?

You look back and you open history books on the Civil Rights movement, and you see those folks who are protesting against the ability [of] African-Americans and black Americans to have the right to vote, and they would hold up these bigoted signs, and they would hold up signs that said things like, ‘What about white rights?’ and all of this stuff, in the 1950s, 1960s.

So just know that in the present day, there a lot of people who hide the fact that their families and that their grandparents fought against principles of equal rights in the United States. Not 100 years ago, not 80 years ago, but in this generation’s lifetime.

So just know that while a lot of people can hide that their grandparents did that [during] the civil rights movement, you should also know that the internet documents everything. And your grandchildren will not be able to hide the fact that you fought against acknowledging and taking bold action against climate change.

And for those of you who are trying to mock and delay this moment, I mean, I just feel bad for you. I pity you for your role in history right now.

Do you support individual military members being able to opt out of getting the COVID vaccine?

We won’t have to wait for our grandchildren’s opinions of us.

The prescription that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has for us to “correct our transgressions” would mess up our country in the not-too-distant future.

If she wants to do some good, she should talk to the vice premier of China. He is in D.C. today for trade talks.

China and India — not us — are responsible for a large portion of worldwide pollution.

As usual, this gal is blowing smoke just to stay in the headlines.

Regardless of any actual scientific validity of the climate change issue, it remains regrettably true that radical progressives have thoroughly fouled the nest by transparently and hysterically employing climate change as a stalking horse for all manner of traditionally liberal wish-list items.

They have so thoroughly propagandized climate change as to render non-partisan dialogue almost impossible.

We should pity them for their “role in history right now.”
