Kamala Harris, Democrat: ‘I Own a Gun for Personal Safety’

Yet this candidate for 2020 nomination against Trump wants stricter laws — 'stop with the hypocrisy,' notes opinion writer

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and other Democrats want to control everything — and since they can’t (or won’t) control criminals, it is the law-abiding citizen who pays the price for their new laws.

Now we learn that the Democratic candidate for president who slams the Second Amendment and any Republicans connected to it owns a gun, too.

Understand this: She’s an American and it’s her right to have one.

But she should stop with the hypocrisy.

Sen. Kamala Harris revealed Thursday that she’s a gun owner — but said she still wants stricter gun laws.

“I am a gun owner. And I own a gun for probably the reason that a lot of people do, for personal safety,” the California Democrat told a group of reporters in Iowa.

“I was a former prosecutor.”

The 2020 presidential hopeful said she believes that voters have been offered a “false choice” on the issue of guns.

“For too long and still today we are being offered a false choice, which suggests you’re either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take everyone’s gun away,” Harris said. She attributed the problem to a “lack of courage” from leaders. (source: New York Post)

Harris, just like every other leftist candidate, will say and do practically anything to get elected — and then once elected, transform into something else entirely.

Case in point: The Harris family were slave owners, yet Harris is all in for “reparations” for the slave families from centuries back.

The only remaining question is will the Harris family be getting a check or sending a check, if and when that ever happens?

The Democrats’ first step should be to enforce the law that prohibits felons from possessing firearms and implement stop and frisk.

They make every excuse for not taking tough stances because it might hurt others’ feelings — or they do not want to see criminals taken down or hurt. But those excuses have to stop.

The Second Amendment exists so that citizens can keep militia arms, arms suitable for combat or self-defense, and maintain a proficiency with them, to enable a body of armed citizens for a “well-regulated militia.”

The Second Amendment is not about hunting or sporting. Our Founders intended that citizens possess “weapons of war” for militia purposes, defense against a feral government, or for self-defense.

The Second Amendment is a core concept of this country — and we are not America without it. Those people who don’t like that should move to some other country that has the kind of gun control they prefer.

Our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms is not dependent upon how much “gun violence” occurs in the U.S.

The Second Amendment is a core concept of this country — and we are not America without it.

I am always amazed to see so many people so indoctrinated by the media that they are willing to give away their freedoms without even understanding that their loss of freedom is a consequence of what the press is advocating. Some people are just too dumb to be able to connect the dots any more.

Heck, many of them don’t even realize that the dots are supposed to join — it’s tough for a person to be dumber than that.
