President Donald Trump on Saturday denounced the investigations against him by pointing to their changes of focus and conflicts of interests.

Trump has been at the center of federal and congressional investigations headed by a variety of people.

The president went after the numerous ongoing inquiries against him for changing the goalposts just to try to get something on him.

He specifically pointed to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).

“So they don’t have anything with Russia,” Trump told the large crowd of conservatives gathered outside Washington, D.C. “There’s no collusion, so now they morph into, ‘Let’s inspect every deal he has done. We’re going to go into his finances, we’re going to check his deals, we’re going to check’ — These people are sick. I saw Little Shifty Schiff yesterday,” added the president, referring to Rep. Schiff. “It was the first time. He went into a meeting and said, ‘We’re going to look into his finances.’ I said, ‘Where did that come from?’ He always talked about Russia, collusion with Russia. [It’s] the collusion delusion.”

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was hosting the president on the last day of its 2019 event; the conference ran from Wednesday to Saturday.

Vice President Mike Pence, during his speech to the group on Friday, looked back at past successes and shared a call to action for the future.

Special counsel Robert Mueller and his team are expected to finish their investigation and issue a report in the coming weeks. The special counsel team has been looking into possible crimes committed by the president or his associates, with a particular focus on whether or not they colluded with Russian interests during the presidential election of 2016.

Trump has accused them of bias. He has often expressed concern generally of career bureaucrats trying to undercut him illegally in what he refers to as “the deep state.”

House Democrats also have opened up additional investigations against the president since gaining a majority at the start of this year.

“Now we’re waiting on a report and we’ll find out whether or not and who we’re dealing with,” Trump said. “We’re waiting on a report from people who were not elected.”

“Now we have people that lost and unfortunately when you put the wrong people in a couple of positions, and they leave people for a long time that shouldn’t be there, and all of a sudden they’re trying to take you out with bull***,” Trump said. “Now Robert Mueller never received a vote, not did the person who appointed him. And as you know the [former] attorney general [Jeff Sessions] said, ‘I am going to recuse myself.’ And I said, ‘Why the hell didn’t he tell me that before I put him in?'”

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller to lead the special counsel investigation back in May 2017. Sessions recused himself from everything related to the allegations shortly before that. Mueller has since indicted Russian intelligence officers and made numerous charges against former associates of the president.

“Robert Mueller put 13 of the angriest Democrats in the country on the commission,” Trump said on Saturday. “Now how do you do that? These are angry, angry people, and if you take a look at them, one of them was involved with [the running of] the Hillary Clinton Foundation.”

Trump has denounced the special counsel probe as the single greatest “witch hunt” in the country’s history. The president also has accused Mueller of having conflicts of interests for his close history with people such as former FBI Director James Comey.

House Republicans also have accused agents that were part of the special counsel team of bias against the president.

“But we have conflicts,” Trump added on Saturday. “I had a nasty business transaction with Robert Mueller from a number of years ago. I said, ‘Why isn’t that mentioned?’ He wanted the job as FBI director. These are things that are out there. They know it. Why isn’t that — and I didn’t give it to him — why isn’t that ever mentioned? Jim Comey, lying James Comey, is his best friend. James Comey is his best friend. And those are a few of the conflicts.”

Trump also discussed how the economy has been improving under his watch, as well as his efforts to rework international trade deals. He criticized the media as well — a hallmark of his recent speeches — and he encouraged Democrats to pursue the far-Left Green New Deal in an apparent jab at how extreme it is.

During his speech, Trump invited to the stage Hayden Williams, the young man who was attacked by a left-leaning extremist at the University of California Berkeley recently. Williams was working on campus as a recruiter for The Leadership Institute, a conservative student group, when the extremist punched him in the face in broad daylight during a confrontation.

Zachary Greenberg, 28, was later arrested for the assault and is due in court on Monday.
