Santa Clara County officials denied the detainer request for the illegal alien suspected of brutally murdering Bambi Larson, 59, in her home in San Jose in February, according to deportation documents “The Ingraham Angle” exclusively obtained and unveiled on Thursday night.

Carlos Eduardo Arevalo Carranza, 24, has been charged with first degree murder for allegedly stalking and stabbing Larson on February 28. He is being held in custody without bond ahead of his May 17 hearing.

But the San Jose police revealed on Tuesday that Arevalo Carranza, a gang member, had been arrested multiple times prior to the murder. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had an active detainer request for him.

Yet county officials insisted their sanctuary policies were not at fault for the illegal immigrant’s repeated releases.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham revealed on Thursday night that she had obtained Arevalo Carranza’s deportation documents.

“Earlier today, ‘The Ingraham Angle’ was contacted by an anonymous source with knowledge of the case. This person obtained what they said was the copy of the DHS [Department of Homeland Security] immigration detainer notice of the action dated October 9, 2018, for Carranza,” Ingraham said.

“And after we got our hands on this document, we verified its authenticity directly with DHS officials,” the Fox News host added.

The documents showed county officials had placed a “Not Honored Per County Policy” stamp on the detainer request.

This indicated “that it was the sanctuary city status that was directly at fault for this crime and for the man being on the loose,” Ingraham said. “Obviously he wouldn’t have been here to commit the crime if he had been detained by ICE and deported out of the country.”

To make matters even worse, the DHS confirmed with “The Ingraham Angle” that “the suspect’s not only in the country illegally, but had left and then reentered after he claimed asylum and passed that initial credible fear screening in an interview with border officials,” Ingraham said.

Ingraham noted her show learned of this “shocking” new information “just hours after a bipartisan majority in Congress rejected the president’s emergency border declaration.”

President Donald Trump declared the border crisis posed by illegal immigration a national emergency in February. He did so after Congress failed to give him the $5.7 billion he requested in border wall funding to address the crisis.

The House passed a resolution to end the president’s national emergency at the border on February 26. The Senate then voted 59 to 41 to end the national emergency on Thursday. Twelve GOP senators joined their Democratic colleagues in voting against the president — thus setting the president up for his first veto.

“These 12 senators — they should wear a Border Patrol uniform for one shift and come back and tell us there’s not a national emergency,” former Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan told Ingraham on Thursday night.

Some of the Republican defectors insisted they voted against the president because they were afraid of executive overreach in declaring national emergencies. Homan said Democratic presidents like Barack Obama had already abused national emergency declarations.

“[Republicans have] got to stop playing nice and support this president. I mean, this president’s doing his job. He’s keeping his promise. He wants to secure the nation and protect American people,” Homan said. “I thought that was the number-one responsibility of Congress. But apparently for 12 of them, it isn’t.”

Ingraham noted that “this was a rebuke to the president by a party — Republican Party — that has failed on this issue of immigration.”

Byron York, the Washington Examiner’s chief political correspondent and a Fox News contributor, agreed.

“It was indeed a rebuke … That’s the biggest rebuke we have seen so far,” York said.

Ingraham lashed out at the 12 GOP senators.

“But these Republicans, 12 of them who voted against this national emergency declaration, should be ashamed of themselves tonight, OK?” said Ingraham. “Don’t stand on your high horse about the Constitution when Congress delegated the authority to … the president to declare a national emergency in the 1970s.”

“It is an emergency every time a parent or a son or a daughter or a child is raped or brutally assaulted — or, in this case, murdered,” she added. “And I’m done — these Republicans, I have no words for them tonight … It disgusts me.”
