Ocasio-Cortez: ‘Illegal Aliens Reside in My District, They’re My Constituents’

Did you see what the Democratic socialist said when she questioned a Trump Cabinet official on the citizenship issue?

I am speechless.

When I saw that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) referred to illegal aliens as “my constituents” during a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing last week, I was floored.

Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross was on the so-called hot seat when it was AOC’s turn for questioning.

She focused on the “citizenship question,” which the Trump administration is trying to add back to the census for 2020.

What’s on the line is which states will gain or lose seats in the House of Representatives when redistricting begins in 2021.

Ross wrote a memo about why the citizenship question should be added back to the Census.

It read:

The Department of Commerce is not able to determine definitively how inclusion of a citizenship question on the decennial census will impact responsiveness.

However, even if there is some impact on responses, the value of more complete and accurate data derived from surveying the entire population outweighs such concerns.

Completing and returning decennial census questionnaires is required by federal law, those responses are protected by law, and inclusion of a citizenship question on the 2020 decennial census will provide more complete information for those who respond.

As for AOC, her breadth of history only goes back a couple of weeks, so she doesn’t understand the reason for the question, which you can view in the video below.

“Mr. Kobach later sent an email to you on July 14, writing that the lack of the citizenship question ‘leads to the problem that aliens who do not actually reside in the United States are still counted for congressional apportionment services,'” she said.

“Of course they do reside in the United States. They reside in my district. They’re my constituents.”

Wow.

Who does that?

She’s willing to publicly tell America what we already know — but act as if it’s OK.

Her mindset is that it’s OK for illegal aliens to be in this country illegally.

I’ve never understood the “insurance policy” Democrats have with illegals when they call them law-abiding citizens after these people sneak into our country and use our resources.

That always angered me that they get away with it.
