A meeting between former President Barack Obama and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) ended with a declaration by Obama to the freshman congresswoman, “I’m proud of you.”

Earlier this week, Obama met with a group of freshman Democrats, describing them as “a young, diverse class, stocked with a bunch of my campaign and administration alums who’ve taken the torch.”

Tlaib posted a photo of herself and Obama after that meeting, and relayed what was discussed between the two.

“President Obama met with us new members of Congress and it was a thoughtful discussion,” Tlaib recalled in an Instagram post.

“The best part was when he looked straight at me and said, ‘I’m proud of you.'”

“This group is going to be driving progress for a long time to come,” Obama reported after the meeting — which presumably included Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.).

‘Driving progress.’ Obama should be wary of the idea that these freshmen will be “driving progress” — especially when he reportedly chastized some of their radical ideas during the meeting.

He reportedly said that the Democrats “shouldn’t be afraid of big, bold ideas — but [that they] also need to think in the nitty-gritty about how those big, bold ideas will work and how you pay for them.”

Many assumed he was discussing some of the higher priced wishlist items on the freshmen’s congressional agenda, such as Medicare for All and the Green New Deal — two proposals with staggering associated costs.

Impeach. Somebody might want to inquire if Obama is proud of Tlaib for unleashing a profanity-laced tirade in which she vowed to pursue the impeachment of President Trump on her first day in office.

“When your son looks at you and says, ‘Mama, look, you won. Bullies don’t win.’ And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t,'” Tlaib said.

“Because we’re going to go in there, and we’re going to impeach the motherf*****.”

Is he proud of her continued efforts to impeach Trump despite the fact that a summary of the Mueller investigation on Russian collusion exonerated the president and his campaign from colluding with Russia to steal the 2016 election?

Is he proud of her association with Abbas Hamideh, a Hezbollah-backing anti-Israel activist?

Is he proud of her support for the BDS movement, something House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has described as “bigoted” and “dangerous”?

Of course he is.

At times like these, it’s important to remember Obama was just as radically Left as the freshman congressional members we see today pushing extremist programs and platforms.
