Actor Luke Perry has passed away at the age of 52.

The “90210” and “Riverdale” star was recently hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

“He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, stepfather Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends,” a representative said in a public statement confirming the actor’s death.

“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”

Perry was hospitalized on February 27 after suffering a massive stroke in his Sherman Oaks, California, home.

The actor was under observation, but he died on Monday morning.

Perry became a household name due to his work on the popular television series “90210,” which ran from 1990 to 2000.

Perry appeared on the program from 1990 to 1995 and then returned from 1998 to 2000.

His film work included “The Fifth Element” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

He also appeared on the HBO series “Oz.”

Perry was in the midst of a comeback in recent years thanks to his role on the popular CW series “Riverdale,” a dark adaptation of the long-running “Archie” comics.

He also recently scored a role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” a part he reportedly already shot before his death.

Perry had a good reputation in Hollywood and among fans.

Many have already been taking to social media to mourn the artist’s death.
