The first official image from an upcoming miniseries about late Fox News CEO Roger Ailes has been released — and it shows just how far Academy Award winner Russell Crowe is going in order to capture the look of the former media mogul.

“The Loudest Voice in the Room” will mostly tackle the later years of Ailes’ life, but it reportedly will also contain flashbacks that show how he turned Fox News into the major news channel it is today.

It’s said the series will also address the sexual misconduct allegations against Ailes from such former Fox News personalities as Gretchen Carlson and Megyn Kelly.

Crowe, as Ailes, has gained weight and undergone a transformation.

“The Loudest Voice in the Room” also features Naomi Watts as Carlson, Sienna Miller as Ailes’ wife Beth, and “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane as Fox executive Brian Lewis.

The series is based on the book of the same name by Gabriel Sherman, who was also responsible for a New York Times article detailing alleged sexual harassment by Ailes during his time at Fox News.

He died in May 2017 less than a year after leaving the company.

Considering Sherman’s involvement in the series — he is co-writing the miniseries — there’s no expectation here of a positive portrayal of Ailes.

Crowe is not the only actor tackling the role of Ailes. John Lithgow will also play the late media mogul in an upcoming film from director Jay Roach (“Recount,” “Game Change”).

While the level of commitment Crowe is putting into this new role is impressive, there’s also no reason to expect anything more than a predictable and agenda-driven series meant mostly to gain pats on the back from the liberal media rather than drive actual interest from television viewers.

“The Loudest Voice in the Room” has no release date as of yet. It began filming in November 2018 and will air on Showtime.
