“Good Morning America” host and former football player Michael Strahan (pictured above right) offered the Clemson Tigers football team a free meal to make up for the players’ recent White House visit.

Strahan revealed he wasn’t exactly pleased with President Donald Trump’s decision to serve fast food meals from McDonald’s, Wendy’s and other outlets to the championship athletes.

The president said on Twitter that he personally paid for the food — and that the athletes ate it up, literally and figuratively.

“Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the shutdown I served them massive amounts of fast food (I paid), over 1,000 hamburgers etc. Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!” Trump tweeted about the visit.

Strahan was still not satisfied.

He offered to take the team out for lobster and caviar in New York City.

“We gonna take care of you,” Strahan said. “We gonna give you the proper meal that you deserve because that was one great game, a great accomplishment.”

Strahan was not the only celebrity to slam Trump for the decision to serve fast food at the White House.

“Star Trek” actor George Takei weighed in, going so far as to call the event a “national trauma.”

“The White House dinner for the Clemson Tigers summed up our national trauma perfectly: An isolated, self-proclaimed billionaire, ever stingy when paying the tab, forces real heroes to listen to him drone on senselessly, making this about him while their food goes cold and soggy,” the actor tweeted.

All of this “outrage,” however, hasn’t extended to everyday Americans.

“He paid to meet with the players and served them things they were comfortable eating. He was just keeping the mood light and fun for them where they could visit and have a good time,” said one Facebook commenter about the story. “The Congress members were on a government-paid mini vacation on a beach eating high on the hog and drinking champagne. I see a major difference as to who is concerned about spending our money.”

Another said, “We all know it really doesn’t matter what he [Trump] had served. Somebody somewhere would have something to say about it. As long as the team and everyone that was there enjoyed the food, what difference does it make?”

Yet another responded — with a few capital letters sprinkled in — “WELL, SO WHAT. It is a shutdown, so no elaborate food! Eat like regular American people. And some of us have a lot less!”
