Police in Paris detained rapper Chris Brown after a 24-year-old woman accused him of rape.
The alleged incident took place between January 15 and January 16.
Police detained Brown on Monday for the official complaint — as well as for drug infractions — and he remains in custody on Tuesday.
The authorities have two days to decide whether to file charges against Brown for aggravated rape or not.
In her complaint, the alleged victim says she met Brown at the Le Crystal club — and that they later went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in central Paris.
Brown, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, was convicted of assault charges in 2009 after a physical confrontation with singer and then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Last May, he was sued for alleged sexual assault.
Brown, 29, is best known for such hit songs as “Kiss Kiss” and “With You.”
He has also appeared in films like “Stomp the Yard” and “Takers.”
The BBC said it contacted the singer’s representatives for comment; there is as yet no word there.
In a video posted to his Instagram account in 2016, Brown went after Trump and his supporters in an expletive-laced rant.
“F*** Trump and f*** the pigs. To see this evil s*** is so wrong! God will have his revenge! Trust me!” Brown said.
