Comedian Kevin Hart has no interest, after all, in hosting the 2019 Academy Awards.

After a Friday interview between Hart (shown above with his wife, Eniko Parrish) and Ellen DeGeneres went viral, many fans had renewed faith that the “Ride Along” star would step back into the job of hosting the ceremony.

DeGeneres pleaded with Hart on her show to return as the host of the Oscars.

She even said she had called the producers of the event and found out they would be thrilled to have Hart in role.

After he heard that, he said he would reconsider his decision to step away from the gig.

Hart made the decision to exit his duties as host of the show in December ,not long after it was announced the comedian would emcee the night.

Online backlash mounted against Hart over jokes that were deemed by some to be homophobic. The jokes were years old — and Hart had apologized for them before. Someone had resurfaced them after his name circulated as Oscars host.

Instead of going on the usual apology tour, Hart announced he was exiting the role of host of the Academy Awards.

It’s worth noting that even DeGeneres — for all her popularity — got backlash online over her defense of Hart.

She even tweeted to her fans to explain her position on the Hart matter.

“I believe in forgiveness. I believe in second chances,” she wrote.

Hart has now revealed to Variety in a new interview that he has no interest in hosting the Oscars.

“Would I ever do it? No, it’s done. It’s done,” the comedian said.

“When I go on that stage, it will be because I’ve somehow figured out a way to win the Oscar. Somehow I’ll get to the stage, but it’s not going to be in this way because it just comes with such a weird cloud at this point. There’s no ill will toward the Academy.”

“The moment came and it was a blessing, and I was excited at the opportunity and I still am. In my mind I got the job, it was a dream job, and things came up that simply prohibited it from happening. But I don’t believe in going [backward].”

He continued, “When I go on that stage, it will be because I’ve somehow figured out a way to win the Oscar. Somehow I’ll get to the stage, but it’s not going to be in this way because it just comes with such a weird cloud at this point. There’s no ill will toward the Academy.”

The Academy has yet to announce a new host for its ceremony this year.

Hart can next be seen in “The Upside,” a comedy he co-stars in with “Breaking Bad” actor Bryan Cranston.

Hart will also voice a character in the upcoming “The Life of Pets 2” and will reprise his role in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” in the much-anticipated sequel, which is set to hit theaters on December 13.
