Even though Kevin Hart stepped down from his gig hosting the 91st Academy Awards — he is not ruling out a return to it.

The comedian, who made the decision last month to step away from the gig after facing backlash for a handful of homophobic tweets of his that were dug up from 2009 to 2011, said he is “evaluating” retaking the Oscars hosting job, if it is again offered to him.

The awards show, slated for February 24, currently has no host.

Hart (shown above with his wife, Eniko Parrish) did a sitdown interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which is airing Friday afternoon.

During it, DeGeneres told him she had reached out to the Academy of Motion Pictures to vouch for him.

She also said the academy still wanted him to host the show.

“I called the Academy today because I really want you to host the Oscars,” DeGeneres declared.

She then said the Academy told her, “We want him to host. Whatever we can do, we’d be thrilled.”

To this, Hart replied, “Leaving here, I promise you, I’m evaluating this conversation.”

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has not offered any official public response to this revelation.

LifeZette reached out to the Academy for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.

In the video, DeGeneres tweeted previewing the interview, she wrote, “I believe in forgiveness. I believe in second chances. And I believe in @KevinHart4Real.”

On this matter, DeGeneres’ opinion could have some clout, as she is one of the more prominent and openly lesbian members of the entertainment industry.

It does not seem that Hart was happy he had to step down from his hosting role, either.

He initially refused to apologize for his tweets when they were dug up and circulated by others, though he received a call from the Academy telling him to apologize.

Instead, he told people to “stop being so negative.”

This week, he told DeGeneres he already apologized for his words in the past. He still appeared upset over what happened.

Hart said someone waited until he had achieved a dream of his to dig through his nearly 40,000 tweets and post the most controversial ones.

“That’s a malicious attack on my character,” he said. “That’s an attack to end me.”

Hart claimed he does not have a “homophobic bone” in his body despite the allegations made online against him.

He also said he had grown in the past 10 years since he started making such jokes.

One of these now-deleted controversy-stirring tweets from 2011 said, “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ’stop that’s gay.”

Another from 2010 read, “Why does @wayne215 have so many pictures of me in his phone!!! What ru some type of FAT F** that takes pic of small black men all day?”

And he told NBA star Dwyane Wade in 2009, “@dwadeofficial u should ask the question like this, how many ‘gay’ men sweat when they wear dress shirts because real men don’t lmao p.s. f**”.
