While President Donald Trump’s attorney general nominee, William Barr, fielded questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee during Tuesday’s confirmation hearings, his eight-year-old grandson, Liam Daly, captured hearts and stole the show — with a precious note scribbled to his grandfather.

The note, captured by a Reuters photographer, began, “Dear Grandpa, I love you so much.”

The youngster (shown above, with Bill Barr) then offered a word of encouragement to his grandfather, whom Trump nominated to replace Jeff Sessions as head of the Department of Justice.

“You are doing great so far,” said the letter, written on a Senate Committee on the Judiciary notepad, likely available to those in the room on Tuesday.

It continued, “But I know you still will.”

After adding that he was “having so much fun” at the hearing, the young man offered a brief foreign policy consult to his 68- year-old grandfather that seemed well beyond his eight years.

The pièce de résistance in the postscript reads (along with a few misspellings), “P.S. I think Rusha’s people are fine. It is the govermint is the problam.”

The young man seemed to have a good handle on the matters that some elders in the room struggle with mightily.

The child’s note was not the only attention he drew during the hearing.

Clad in a smart suit and tie and well-behaved throughout, the youngster garnered broad bipartisan support.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), the committee’s new chair, joked during the hearing that young Liam should consider medicine as a future career, since “somebody needs to make money in the family.”

For her part, ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), sent a care package to the boy during the hearing, which included chips, a Snickers bar, and a granola bar, USA Today reported.

“He deserves a medal,” Feinstein said.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) was taken with the youngster as well.

Kennedy, who shared a photo with the lad, took to Twitter to say, “I had a great conversation with Liam this morning. I’m looking forward to getting to know his grandfather, William Barr, during the attorney general hearing today.”
