President Donald Trump attacked former FBI Director James Comey during an online rant on Friday just hours before Comey appeared for a congressional hearing.

The House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee have been reviewing questionable decisions made during two investigations by the Department of Justice and FBI.

Comey has been a main person of interest since the beginning.

He agreed to face questions during a closed-door hearing on Friday.

“Robert Mueller and Leakin’ Lyin’ James Comey are Best Friends, just one of many Mueller Conflicts of Interest,” Trump said in a tweet.

“And [by] the way, wasn’t the woman in charge of prosecuting Jerome Corsi (who I do not know) in charge of ‘legal”’ at the corrupt Clinton Foundation? A total Witch Hunt.”

The House investigation has specifically been reviewing circumstances that led to the ongoing special counsel’s investigation against the president.

It’s also looking into a prior investigation into Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

She used a private email server set up in her mansion in Chappaqua, New York, to conduct official diplomatic business while she was secretary of state.

Comey decided not to recommend the filing of charges against Clinton during the election season of 2016.

He said her actions were extremely careless but did not rise to a criminally prosecutable offense.

He reopened the case for a short time days before the election, when additional emails were discovered on former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s (D-N.Y.) laptop.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has been leading the investigation into whether or not the president or his associates colluded with Russian interests during the presidential campaign.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed him to lead the special counsel investigation last year after former Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from everything related to the allegations.

“Will Robert Mueller’s big-time conflicts of interest be listed at the top of his Republicans-only report?” Trump tweeted.

“Will Andrew Weissman’s horrible and vicious prosecutorial past be listed in the report? He wrongly destroyed people’s lives, took down great companies, only to be overturned, 9-0, in the United States Supreme Court. Doing same thing to people now.”

The president ultimately fired Comey in a very public display without warning in May 2017. Comey has since been highly critical of the president and has commented on the investigation against him.

His firing was followed by other high-level dismissals of officials connected to the investigations.

“Will all of the substantial & many contributions made by the 17 Angry Democrats to the Campaign of Crooked Hillary be listed in top of report?” Trump also tweeted. “Will the people that worked for the Clinton Foundation be listed at the top of the report?” he also wrote — and more.

Rosenstein allowed for a surveillance of Trump’s former campaign aide Carter Page during the election by signing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant.

The warrant was partially based on dubious opposition research indirectly paid for by the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Trump asked in his tweets whether that will be part of the report the special counsel is preparing.

Trump also went after several other former officials with whom he’s had a contentious battle. John Brennan served as the director of the Central Intelligence Agency before leaving as Trump entered office.

James Clapper served as director of National Intelligence before leaving around the same time, too. Bruce Ohr formerly worked as the associate deputy attorney general when he provided the FBI with the opposition research dossier that led to the surveillance warrant.

“Isn’t Rod therefore totally conflicted?” Trump tweeted.

“Will all of the lying and leaking by the people doing the report, & also Bruce Ohr (and his lovely wife Molly), Comey, Brennan, Clapper, & all of the many fired people of the FBI, be listed in the report? Will the corruption within the DNC & Clinton Campaign be exposed?”

Comey has already testified before Congress during a nearly three-hour hearing in June 2017. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) has been trying to get him back to ask new questions because of some contradictions to his earlier comments, such as how many emails they were able to review.

He resisted the calls and even pledged to ignore a subpoena before eventually agreeing to appear.

Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz released a review of the email investigation on . June 14.

Comey was accused in the report of making a serious error in judgment by sending a letter to lawmakers detailing that was he reopening the email investigation.

But the report didn’t find there was an attempt to influence or rig the election.
