In a new Facebook post, Barack Obama has revealed his favorite books, movies and music of 2018.

“As 2018 draws to a close, I’m continuing a favorite tradition of mine and sharing my year-end lists,” the former president wrote.

“It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved.”

Obama continued, “It also gives me a chance to highlight talented authors, artists, and storytellers — some who are household names and others who you may not have heard of before. Here’s my best of 2018 list — I hope you enjoy reading, watching, and listening.”

It should come as no surprise that Obama’s favorite book of 2018 is “Becoming,” the memoir written by his wife, Michelle.

The book has made headlines both for its massive sales numbers and for its inclusion of a handful of critiques of the current president, Donald J. Trump.

Michelle Obama criticized the birther movement and Donald Trump’s involvement in it.

“The whole thing was crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed,” she wrote in the book.

She later added that the current president’s criticism of Obama put her own family in danger.

“What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington?” she wrote.

Obama’s favorite movies he saw in 2018 include “Annihilation,” “The Death of Stalin,” “The Rider,” “Blindspotting,” Marvel’s “Black Panther,” Spike Lee’s “BlacKkKlansman,” and the Mr. Rogers documentary, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”

Obama’s favorite songs of 2018 include “I Like It” by Cardi B (featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin), “Apes***” by The Carters (Jay Z and Beyonce), “Bad Bad News” by Leon Bridges, “My Own Thing” by Chance the Rapper (featuring Joey Purp), and “Nine Cried Power” by Hozier (featuring Mavis Staples).

Obama will soon be creating his own content alongside the artists he admires.

He and his wife have a deal with Netflix to produce a variety of content, which could include everything from documentaries to scripted shows.
