Actor Jon Voight delivered a patriotic holiday message for his fans this weekend.

The “Deliverance” and “Midnight Cowboy” star posted on his Twitter account — which sports over 60,000 followers — for the first time since November of last year to express his support for President Donald Trump and his dismay at those not rooting for the leader of the country.

“I’m happy all the time actually, except there are things that bother me,” said Voight to the camera. “Most especially what bothers me is people trying to hurt our president of the United States. He’s got a huge amount on his plate. He’s doing such a good job every day.”

The “Transformers” actor also said Trump is doing great things, but many people are not hearing about it because of the mainstream media.

“He’s doing amazing things really, and the news is not representing it, and there are people trying to cook up slanders and lies to bring him down,” the 79-year-old actor said.

He continued, “Can you imagine this? This is our country. We’re Americans. We should support our president and be very, very happy that we have this man in the White House who’s doing so much good for our country.”

Voight ended his talk by saying, “Merry Christmas.”

There was plenty of support for Voight’s thoughts about the president and the state of the country.

“I knew I loved you, this just sealed it. Merry Christmas,” wrote one Twitter user in response.

Another wrote, “Thanks for being you. You’re a great American and Merry Christmas.”

Yet another responded by saying, “Merry Christmas and blessed New Year! God Bless President Trump.”

Voight has long been open about his support of President Donald Trump.

The actor endorsed Trump early on when he was running in the 2016 presidential election, and he even wound up speaking at the president’s inauguration.

“The virulence is because he [Trump] is effective,” Voight told Fox News in September. “He’s actually doing what he said he would do. Amazing thing in itself, isn’t it?”

Voight currently stars on the critically acclaimed Showtime series “Ray Donovan,” which was recently renewed for a seventh season.

Voight will next be starring in the film “Roe v. Wade,” which tells the story of the controversial decision by the Supreme Court to legalize abortion.

He will also be starring in an upcoming biopic of Ronald Reagan titled “Reagan.”

Dennis Quaid will star as the former president in the movie.
