Robert Davi (pictured above right) has one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood. He’s appeared in everything from “Die Hard” to “The Goonies” to “License to Kill” to “Expendables 3” — the list goes on.

He’s also become known in recent years for his musical abilities, highlighted in the film “Davi’s Way.”

Davi is a director as well. He directed and starred in the highly praised “The Dukes,” released in 2007, and since then, fans have been begging for his next directorial effort.

It now arrives in the form of “Magic,” a movie made in partnership with D.E.L.T.A. Rescue, a 115-acre super sanctuary for some 1,500 animals, mostly dogs and cats, located in the high hills of Los Angeles. The no-kill shelter has state-of-the-art veterinary facilities and cares for animals who were abandoned or born in the wilderness — and who otherwise would have suffered for years or even their entire lives if D.E.L.T.A. hadn’t stepped in to help them.

Actor Leo Grillo (above left), one of the leads in “Magic,” founded the animal rescue organization in the early 1980s and it is his life’s work.

“I have fought for my animals, even in federal court,” Grillo told LifeZette. “Today, ‘no kill’ is in the lexicon, and ‘care for life’ is catching on as well.”

The organization has helped make numerous films; “Magic” is its latest.

The flick tells the story of Magic the dog (voiced by Christopher Lloyd of the “Back to the Future” trilogy), an angel sent to help heal a broken family.

The family consists of Brad (Grillo) and Kayla (Sammi Hanratty), a father and daughter both trying to heal from the loss of Kayla’s mother.

Kayla meets Magic and helps him hide from the doctor (played by Robert Davi) and the medical laboratory security forces who are after him.

“It’s a dog’s ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,'” Davi told LifeZette about the film in an exclusive interview.

He added, “I made it this Celtic fairy tale.”

LifeZette got a first look at the film and can report that it’s a wonderful adventure for all ages. The film promotes family, healing and the special relationships we can have with the pets who come into our lives.

Davi, who began as an actor in the film — creating what he calls a “‘Nutty Professor’ doctor” — has created yet another powerful film as a director. He puts movies together in a way that few filmmakers have the patience or the confidence to do in today’s special effects-heavy, reboot-focused Hollywood.

LifeZette is proud to premiere “Magic” and to offer it as a free gift for the holidays from Davi, Rossi and everyone at D.E.L.T.A. Rescue and behind the film.

Make sure to gather the family around for this adventure. It will leave smiles on everyone’s faces.
