Actor Chris Pratt promoted a message of faith and love recently when he helped host Disneyland’s annual Candlelight Ceremony.

Pratt has always been open about his faith, a rarity for an actor of his caliber working in today’s Hollywood.

“Hercules” star Kevin Sorbo told LifeZette in an interview that being open about one’s Christianity in Hollywood can be a career “death sentence.”

Pratt has managed to hang on, though, and remain successful.

He even starred in two of this year’s biggest hits at the box office, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Pratt began his duties as host of Disneyland’s Candlelight Ceremony by reading the story of Jesus Christ’s birth from the Gospel of Luke.

The 39-year-old actor then went into the benefits of fatherhood and how it relates to faith.

“Being a parent has really changed my life in so many ways, and one of those ways is to understand truly the love that a father can have for a child,” the actor said.

“When I stare at this precious little creation of mine here” — his son Jack is pictured above right — “and I watch the ways in which he tries to please me, I just feel a love that is so pure, and unending,” he continued.

“The way we love our children, and the more we love our children, the more we will understand the capacity for our Father in heaven to love us.”

After applause from the audience, Pratt pushed forward.

“Each and every one of us is a special creation, and He just marvels in the ways that we could try to please Him,” Pratt said.

“That should give us all a great deal of comfort. I know it does for me.”

He then added, “This holiday season, let us embrace every one of our tomorrows with hope and love. And through this holiday spirit, may we continue to spread peace and goodwill throughout the world.”

Pratt concluded his statement by saying, “Thank you and Merry Christmas!”

In a Hollywood filled with angry, divisive and agenda-fueled figures today such as Robert De Niro, Michael Moore and Barbra Streisand, we should feel thankful that Pratt is around.

The actor avoids talk of politics — and instead spreads messages of unity wherever he goes. He exemplifies exactly what artists should be striving for today.

If more entertainers were like Pratt and focused their energy on the good that he does, the culture would be in a much healthier place right now. It’s likely that people would not be so torn apart.
