Russell Crowe is going the extra mile for his upcoming role as the late Roger Ailes, former chairman and CEO of Fox News.

In a video posted by TMZ, Crowe can be seen on the set of the upcoming Showtime miniseries “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” which began shooting this week in New York City.

The series follows the life story of Roger Ailes and the sexual misconduct allegations against him in 2016.

The show is based on the book by Gabriel Sherman.

In the video from the set, Crowe can be seen with grey hair, a receding hairline — and he’s packed on quite a few pounds for the new role.

The 54-year-old actor now joins Christian Bale, another actor who completely changed his appearance to play a prominent conservative figure.

Bale gained a massive amount of weight and changed his facial features, including his hairline, to play former Vice President Dick Cheney in the the Adam McKay-directed “Vice,” a film that hits theaters on December 14.

That movie also stars Sam Rockwell (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” “Iron Man 2”) as former President George W. Bush and Steve Carrell (“The Office,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”) as former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Crowe won an Academy Award for Best Actor in 2001 for his role in the hit film “Gladiator.”

Crowe is best known for starring in movies such as the previously mentioned “Gladiator” and “A Beautiful Mind,” plus “L.A. Confidential,” “American Gangster,” and “Man of Steel,” among others.
