Women’s March founder Teresa Shook called on the current leadership of the organization — including polarizing figure Linda Sarsour (shown above right) — to step down from the group, charging that their alliance with anti-Semitic organizations and “hateful, racist rhetoric” violated her original vision and intent.

“Bob Bland, Tamika Mallory, Linda Sarsour and Carmen Perez of Women’s March, Inc. have steered the Movement away from its true course,” said founder Teresa Shook.

She shared that in a statement posted on Facebook on Monday.

“In opposition to our Unity Principles, they have allowed anti-Semitism, anti-LBGTQIA sentiment and hateful, racist rhetoric to become a part of the platform by their refusal to separate themselves from groups that espouse these racist, hateful beliefs,” Shook added.

“As Founder of the Women’s March, my original vision and intent was to show the capacity of human beings to stand in…

The Women’s March leaders, predictably, weren’t having it, immediately firing back at Shook with their own statement on Facebook.

In the statement “signed” by Bland, Perez-Jordan, Sarsour, and Mallory, these individuals accuse Shook and others of behaving “irresponsibly” by attempting to “take advantage of our growing pains to try to fracture our network.”

The Women’s March statement on the matter acknowledges the organization’s “imperfect” nature and the fact that they have “caused harm.”

Notably, the statement carefully tiptoes around specifically condemning leadership’s alliance with anti-Semitic and anti-gay figures, organizations, and ideology by saying only, “Groups that have benefited from our work but refuse to organize in accordance with our Unity Principles clearly have no interest in building the world our principles envision.”

Their response also takes a few stabs at Shook by suggesting her contribution amounts to the creation of the original Facebook event — and that she is now offering “armchair critiques” and wants to “take credit for our labor.”

Shook, an attorney and educator, has not been the first person to raise red flags about this issue.

Earlier this month, actress and activist Alyssa Milano announced that she was refusing to speak at a Women’s March function unless organizers, including Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory, condemned Louis Farrakhan.

An openly pro-Palestinian Sarsour is a diehard Farrakhan fan and apologist.

She organized his “Justice or Else” rally in 2015.

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, a notorious anti-Semite, racist, and hater of gay people, has referred to Jewish people as “termites” and led students in a “Death to Israel! Death to America!” chant at a law school in Tehran, Iran, earlier this month.
