Rocker Billy Idol (pictured above left) is now officially a citizen of the United States.

The “White Wedding” singer took the Naturalization Oath of Allegiance this week.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services tweeted pictures of the musician in Los Angeles going through the ceremony and holding an American flag.

“It’s a nice day for a naturalization ceremony,” the USCIS wrote on Twitter.

“Congratulations on Billy Idol on becoming a #newUScitizen today in Los Angeles, CA.”

Idol, 62, was born in Stanmore, Middlesex, England. He moved to New York in 1981 in order to launch his music career.

Though he would eventually earn success as a solo act, he began by forming the band Generation X.

Best known for classic rock hits like “Rebel Yell” and “Dancing with Myself,” Idol is still performing for audiences to this day. The Palms Casino Resort and Live Nation recently announced he would do his second residency with them at the Pearl Concert Theater in Nevada. The 10-show run from Idol will take place next year.

“It’s a fun place to be really, you can have a lot of fun in Vegas,” Idol recently told USA Today. “It’s just nice for us after we’ve been traveling around for a really long time, and I’ve been doing this — it’s my 42nd year. It’ll be my 43rd year next year.”

Idol said he is also headed to the studio to record a new album soon.

Born with the name William Michael Albert Broad, Idol is also known for appearing in films like “The Wedding Singer” with Adam Sandler (“Happy Gilmore,” “Billy Madison) and Oliver Stone’s “The Doors” with Val Kilmer (“Heat,” “Tombstone”).

At a time when so many celebrities spend their days putting down America and rooting against it, it’s wonderful to see an artist like Idol openly show his patriotism and his desire to become a citizen of this great nation.

Fans of idol have been taking to social media to celebrate the rocker’s new citizenship.

“The right way to become an American. Congratulations @BillyIdol,” tweeted conservative commentator Sebastian Gorka.

“Awesome. Congratulations @BillyIdol!” added novelist Brad Thor.

Another user tweeted in response, “Aww … Congrats to singer Billy Idol! He became a U.S. citizen!! It truly is a beautiful day for a White Wedding!”

Yet another said, “Congratulations @Billyidol!!! I’ll have to put ‘White Wedding’ back on the workout playlist for a while. It’s a nice day to start agaaaaain!!!!”
