Filmmaker Rob Reiner is one of President Donald Trump’s most outspoken Hollywood critics.

The “Misery” and “Stand By Me” director can’t seem to get the president off the brain, especially when one looks at his Twitter account.

Reiner started his Tuesday morning with a fresh meltdown over Trump — and called the current sitting president a “criminal” and a “racist.”

“Hypocritical. Incompetent. Corrupt. Ignorant. Criminal. Mentally unstable. Racist. Misogynistic. Self aggrandizing. Self dealing. Disrespects allies. Embraces dictators. And all wrapped up in a constant stream of lies. Ladies and gentleman, the President of the United States,” tweeted Reiner.

It’s not clear what Reiner is referencing — but the director has criticized just about everything Trump has done and said in the past so it really doesn’t matter what provoked this meltdown.

When it comes to Trump Derangement Syndrome among leftists like Reiner, even the president’s mere action of breathing can set off accusations of racism and misogyny.

Reiner had previously called the president racist — and called his supporters that as well.

“What we’re doing in the United States of America is inhuman … [Trump] launched his campaign basically saying, ‘Mexicans are rapists and murderers.’ That’s what he is still selling. It’s the only thing he can sell to that racist base of his,” the director told MSNBC recently when talking about border security.

While Reiner’s political rhetoric has heated up, his movie career, interestingly, has cooled down.

His most recent film, “Shock and Awe,” completely flopped at the box office.

The film told the story of a handful of journalists and how they covered the original invasion of Iraq.

The film, which starred Woody Harrelson (“White Men Can’t Jump,” “Venom,” “Solo: A Star Wars Story”) and James Marsden (“Superman Returns,” “X-Men,” “Enchanted”), earned less than $80,000 at the box office and was torn apart by both critics and audience members.

Other recent directorial efforts such as “LBJ,” “Being Charlie,” “And So It Goes,” and “Flipped” have also failed to connect with audiences at the box office.

Reiner is best known for directing hits like “Misery,” “Stand By Me,” “A Few Good Men,” “The Bucket List,” and “When Harry Met Sally.”

Maybe it’s time Reiner takes a step back from politics and reconnects with the artist hidden inside this angry man, the artist who once made films people could truly connect to and enjoy.

These days his movies are as cold, wooden and lazy as his political meltdowns.
