It’s sad to see how low late-night television has fallen.

Modern hosts like Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, Trevor Noah, and many others have become divisive and politically obsessed comedians who salivate and sit in wait for an opportunity to pounce on President Donald Trump and conservatives so they can earn some points for their “team.”

Kimmel (pictured above left) targeted Trump and his administration on Tuesday night in what seemed an odd attempt to defend former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her controversial use of personal devices to conduct government affairs while she was secretary of state in the Obama administration.

Ivanka Trump is now being accused of using her personal phone to contact officials on government matters, according to a recent report from The Washington Post.

There could not have been better news in the world of Jimmy Kimmel.

“Hillary, meanwhile, is having a good laugh today because the president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, turns out, Ivanka, who’s a member of the Trump administration, used her personal email account for official White House business,” said the comedian, stretching this out as much as he could.

“Sometimes the jokes write themselves. The president, though, to his credit, does not play favorites when it comes to the law. He’s very serious about email related offenses and he had some harsh words today for his own flesh and blood.”

Kimmel then played clips showing Trump criticizing Hillary Clinton’s email use — but Kimmel joked that the criticisms were aimed at Ivanka.

Kimmel then said he predicted the president would give an interview soon in which he pretends not to know his own daughter in an effort to distance himself from her.

There have been no indications so far that Ivanka Trump’s email carried sensitive or classified information.

Clinton, on the other hand, was investigated by the FBI for her controversial use of a private email server — housed in her mansion in Chappaqua, New York — to conduct government business.

Peter Mirijanian, Ivanka Trump’s lawyer, released a statement to Fox News saying Ivanka “did not create a private server in her house or office, there was never classified information transmitted, the account was never transferred or housed at Trump Organization, no emails were ever deleted, and the emails have been retained in the official account in conformity with records preservation laws and rules.”

He continued, “When concerns were raised in the press 14 months ago, Ms. Trump reviewed and verified her email use with White House Counsel and explained the issue to congressional leaders.”
