Actor Jim Carrey is accusing President Donald Trump of “manslaughter.”

“As the California death toll rises our Sadist-in-Chief is spending $220 million to send troops to the border for nothing. That’s one way to get rid of Democrats. This is no longer politics. This is manslaughter,” the actor wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

The text was accompanied by a painting of a person who appears to have burned to death while wearing “Go Rams” t-shirt.

It’s difficult to grasp what Carrey is getting at here. There are first responders fighting tirelessly in California to control the wildfires that have claimed dozens of lives and destroyed even more homes.

As for the border, Carrey is as vague in his position as other leftists have been.

What is their answer to installing a controlled, easy to maintain system of legal immigration in this country? Is open borders their answer? Is the current non-system in place enough for them?

Carrey has become known in recent years more for his extreme political statements and bizarre paintings targeting conservatives than his acting.

It’s sad because he’s a genuinely talented guy who used to spread a lot of joy.

A great many people still enjoy such hit films of his as “Dumb and Dumber,” “Liar Liar,” “Bruce Almighty,” “Ace Ventura,” and others.

He’s also pulled off some emotionally raw performances in more serious fare like “Eternal Sunshine in the Spotless Mind” and “The Majestic.”

He still delivers gripping performances, too. He’s both funny and moving in the recent Showtime series “Kidding” — though it’s hard not to be distracted by the obnoxious political statements Carrey makes when he’s not saying words provided to him in a script.

Aside from his accusations of manslaughter, Carrey has also said Americans have to “say yes” to socialism — he is, meanwhile, a millionaire and has benefited enormously from capitalism — and he’s even called Trump a “witch.”

In terms of his acting, Carrey can next be seen in an adaptation of the popular video game “Sonic the Hedgehog,” which will hit theaters next year, on Nov. 8, 2019.

He will be working soon on more of his Showtime series “Kidding,” which was recently picked up for a second season.

The show marks a reunion for Carrey and his “Eternal Sunshine” director, Michel Gondry.
