“Saturday Night Live” star Alec Baldwin was taken into police custody on Friday afternoon after a physical altercation in a parking lot in New York City’s West Village neighborhood.

Baldwin (above right) lives in Manhattan with his wife and four children.

Initial reports suggested the 60-year-old actor had punched a 49-year-old man in the jaw over a disagreement about a parking spot.

The man hit in the jaw was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, but he was conscious when police arrived.

A new report has now revealed the identity of the man who was struck; his name is Wojciech Cieszowski.

And there are suggestions that Baldwin could be in far less trouble than originally expected.

Though it is grainy, there is reportedly footage of the event — and the scuffle may have been somewhat mutual.

Baldwin may not have actually punched the man, but rather slapped him in a scuffle over a parking space, according to a new report from TMZ.

Cieszowski has told police he is suffering face and neck injuries from the event, but if Baldwin can prove that the fight was mutual, then he may not be facing assault charges.

The actual incident between Cieszowski and Baldwin reportedly occurred because the actor had someone positioned in the parking lot saving a space for him.

Cieszowski, however, came in and took the spot — leading to a disagreement between the two men.

Baldwin has been released from police custody. He was given a desk appearance ticket for assault and harassment on Friday.

Baldwin’s history does not exactly work in his favor here.

He has been in trouble with the law before and has made headlines for his outbursts.

He was previously arrested in 2014 for becoming “belligerent” with a New York City police officer after riding a bicycle in the wrong direction.

A mainstream media desperate to turn Baldwin into a hero for the anti-Trump crowd has somehow conveniently forgotten about the actor’s past.

The actor has also made headlines for several run-ins with paparazzi and for getting kicked off a flight in 2011 for refusing to put his phone away.

A mainstream media desperate to turn Baldwin into a hero for the anti-Trump crowd has somehow conveniently forgotten about the actor’s past. It’s as if his status as a controversial public figure was simply scrubbed because he’s been portraying President Donald Trump as a buffoon on “Saturday Night Live.”

Beyond his work on “Saturday Night Live,” Baldwin currently has a talk show for ABC, which is tanking in the ratings.
