Texans are passionate about their football, and more than 70,000 fans go crazy when Houston’s NFL team plays at home.

Yet that number pales beside the throng expected Monday night for President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) rally.

Trump will be campaigning for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in his heated battle against Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas). Cruz leads by 9 points in the latest polls, but O’Rourke has raised $38 million for his campaign, so he can’t be counted out.

Joining Trump and Cruz at the podium will be Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.

More than 100,000 people requested tickets for the Monday MAGA rally, but the Toyota Center in downtown Houston, where it will be held, seats only 19,000. So rather than turning people away, the president’s 2020 re-election campaign is turning the event into the “Big Texas Tailgater” with big screens, free food, and live entertainment for those unable to get inside.

The president is expected to begin speaking at 7:30 p.m. EST. Watch the livestream here:
