Vicki Bloom (pictured above left), a woman who works for a nonprofit group in New York City called The Doula Project, bragged to the BBC recently about assisting over 2,000 mothers with their abortions.

This “abortion doula” even admitted during the interview that many of the women she’s assisted through their abortions have told her that they wanted to keep their child, but felt they couldn’t for economic reasons or other concerns, as The Daily Wire reported.

“I had thought that would feel weird while they were terminating a pregnancy, but, actually, it makes a lot of sense,” says the 50-year-old, who once worked as a food scientist.

A doula in the traditional sense is someone trained in assisting women through childbirth, and sometimes providing support to the family after the baby is born. But at The Doula Project, all doulas must be willing to assist an expectant mother through an abortion, should she opt to undergo one.

Bloom says helping women get through this choice is “most rewarding.”

“Making a deep connection, making a difference — and then letting it go — is super-powerful,” she told the BBC.

Bloom assists with abortions up to 24 weeks — a stunning six months along in a pregnancy, and the start of the third trimester — as far along as a woman can legally obtain the abortion in New York.

“I will stand up by their head and be looking into that person’s eyes, ready for whatever they need, while the doctor is doing the procedure,” she explained.

The doula admitted that many women explicitly tell her they want to keep their baby, but feel they can’t.

“I really wanted this baby but I don’t have enough money,” Bloom says she frequently hears, and also, “I feel so sad about this, but taking care of my two kids right now is enough,” as The Daily Wire noted.

Instead of offering options, Bloom supports the easiest way out — terminating the pregnancy.

“We think women deserve good care and support however their pregnancy proceeds — whether it results in birth, miscarriage, stillbirth, fetal anomaly, or abortion,” said Bloom in the interview.

Of course, not discussed in the interview are the effects of abortion on the mother, who may experience years of heartbreaking regret, or the child, who obviously loses a chance at life itself.

“I was a science geek, so I came away knowing a lot more about the biology of pregnancy, but also came out feeling very strongly that women should be able to safely do what they need to take care of themselves, without other people or the government interfering,” Bloom said of her pro-abortion stance.
