Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was walking through an airport on Tuesday, minding his own business, when two angry women who seemingly couldn’t come to grips with Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court heckled him.

When the women attacked Cruz (above right) for supporting the Kavanaugh confirmation, the senator had the perfect and calmly delivered response that sputtering progressives should themselves try to emulate: “Thank you for expressing your First Amendment rights,” he told them, as The Daily Wire reported.

The exchange was caught on video and began with Cruz saying, “It’s a victory for women in America.”

The first female snapped, “You think that putting a sexual assaulter on the court is a victory for women? You believe in men assaulting women. That’s what your whole custom is, Senator.”

“I believe in due process,” said Cruz calmly as he continued to walk.

The woman sputtered, “You believe in due process? Lots of women were out there talking about their stories.”

The second female heckler chimed in with another tired old chestnut regarding Kavanaugh (above left): “Do you believe in a man lying about his alcohol in front of the Senate and perjury? Do you believe in perjury?”

Cruz replied politely, “Thank you for expressing your First Amendment rights.”

The woman shouted over and over again, “Shame on you, Ted Cruz! Shame on you, Ted Cruz! Shame on you, Ted Cruz!”

This really set them off. The second woman, who decided to simply get louder rather than offer any sort of persuasive argument, yelled, “So why do you support a man who abuses women? Shame on you, Ted Cruz!”

Cruz said politely, “God bless you, ma’am.”

The second woman, nonplussed by civility and reason, shouted, “Shame on you, Ted Cruz! Shame on you, Ted Cruz! Shame on you, Ted Cruz! Shame on you, Ted Cruz! Shame on you, Ted Cruz!”

Cruz, unfortunately, has had a lot of practice with hecklers; he and his wife, Heidi, were accosted recently in a restaurant by a mob of protesters whose angry chants forced them to leave the establishment.

The group appeared to chastise Cruz over then-nominee Kavanaugh, who was facing multiple sexual assault allegations.

Two one-minute video clips were posted to the Twitter page of a group called “Smash Racism DC.”

The group’s Facebook page states that it’s “united” in the fight against the “Nazis, Ku Klux Klan.”

In the first video clip, a group of protesters was shown approaching Cruz and his wife at a restaurant table, repeatedly shouting, “We believe survivors!”

“Hi, I’d love to talk to you about Brett Kavanaugh tonight. I’m a constituent, love to know what your vote is gonna be tonight. I know that you’re very close friends with Mr. Kavanaugh,” said a woman off-camera. “Do you believe survivors?”
