A Seattle woman is accusing a Washington state senator of raping her 11 years ago — saying she was inspired to come forward by the Kavanaugh Senate Judiciary Committee hearings last Thursday, as Fox News and other outlets reported.

Candace Faber, 35 (pictured above left), tweeted out her accusations against Republican Washington state Sen. Joe Fain (above right) on Thursday following the hours-long hearing.

Faber tweeted, “Is anyone else just fed up and ready to name names? Because I am!”

Faber then named Fain.

She accused him of raping her back in 2007. She said the event happened after a party in Washington, D.C., the night she graduated from Georgetown University.

“Like many survivors, I was inspired by Dr. Ford’s courage,” Faber said in a statement on Thursday.

“Like Dr. Ford, I can no longer remain silent knowing that the man who raped me is in a position to influence the laws that govern my state and impact every woman who lives here.”

Fain, 37, a moderate Republican, serves as the minority floor leader of the state Senate in Washington.

He denied Faber’s allegations to The Seattle Times in a text message.

“I absolutely deny what Ms. Faber is accusing me of,” Fain said. “Any allegation of this serious nature deserves to be heard and investigated for all parties involved. I invite and will cooperate with any inquiry. I ask everyone to show respect to Ms. Faber and to the process.”

Fain, 37, was elected to the Senate in 2010.

He faces Democratic opponent Mona Das in November in his bid to keep his seat.

In a June 29 post on Medium, Faber wrote about the alleged assault without using names, noting that her assailant “continues to serve in the Washington state legislature,” as The Washington Post noted.

Faber said in the post that the man was drunk, and that she had agreed to help walk him back to his hotel room from the party they had both attended.

Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle said Faber’s allegations should be investigated, noted The Seattle Times.

“The governor believes this is a very serious allegation that unquestionably deserves a full investigation by law enforcement officials,” Tara Lee, a spokeswoman for Gov. Jay Inslee (D), told that publication in an email.

In her statement, Faber said she did not make the man’s name public earlier because she thought she “could change the culture of sexual assault without needing to say his name” — but she no longer believes that to be the case, said Fox News.

After the man raped her, Faber said she asked him for a kiss goodnight before leaving the room, she wrote on Medium. She rejected the notion that a request for a kiss was “not how girls act when they’ve been raped,” noted Fox News.

She wrote that she later called a friend, wondering if she should go to a hospital.

“I know that I was flirting with him,” Faber said, according to station KUOW. “And I know that I felt, like, successful in getting his card and proving to my parents that I was going to be good at life.”

Faber came out as a lesbian last year — but in 2007, at 23 years old, she was still struggling with her sexuality and wanted to please her conservative parents, she shared in her post on Medium.

Faber told KUOW that she left her information technology job with the city of Seattle in 2017 because of a mental breakdown, adding that she was diagnosed with psychosis triggered by the buildup of traumas, including rape.
