Comedian and actress Rosie O’Donnell said it took a year for her to “compose” herself after Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential victory.

“It took me a good year to compose myself to be in public again. I took a year out of the spotlight,” the actress told MSNBC in a recent interview.

The actress also doubled down on a wild suggestion she had made when Trump first won the presidency — declaring martial law to keep him from taking office.

“When he was elected, what I wrote on Twitter was, ‘We should impose martial law until we make sure the Russians weren’t involved in the final tallies of the votes,” O’Donnell said.

When it was mentioned later that Trump wanted to utilize military troops on the border, O’Donnell had another wild suggestion.

“I want to send the military to the White House to get him [President Trump]. That’s what I want to do,” she said.

Appearing on the failing and always reliably leftist and extreme MSNBC, O’Donnell received no pushback for her comments; instead, she received laughter.

Imagine the reaction by the mainstream media if a conservative entertainer had suggested such a thing for removing Obama from office.

The fact that O’Donnell is taken seriously enough by some to appear on what is sadly still considered to be a news network is despicable. It’s a sad indictment of our culture, with trust in celebrities who have literally been caught spreading fake news and bullying children.

Luckily, many pushed back against O’Donnell’s crazy military idea.

“Seriously?? What is wrong with people? Don’t like the election results, so let’s use the military to enforce a different result? There’s a word for that…” tweeted “Gosnell” actor Dean Cain in response.

Other nuggets from O’Donnell’s interview included her comments that President Trump’s “wet dream” is to make journalists afraid of him.

She also said the president was a misogynist and targeted him for his recent attacks on adult film actress Stormy Daniels — a woman who has accused the president of having an affair with her during his marriage to Melania Trump.

“He’ll do anything and everything to get what he wants, and women are of no value to him in his life or world,” O’Donnell said. “The only one who [Trump values], I think, is his daughter [Ivanka]. That’s it. The rest of women in the world are as useless as the immigrants he says are coming from, you know, Honduras, to take us in ‘caravans.'”
