Liberal billionaire activists like George Soros (pictured above left) “should know better” than to fund “lunatics running around” harassing conservative lawmakers and staffers, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) said Thursday night on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

“They’ve been doing this to me and many of my colleagues, Laura, for the better part of a year and a half. Anybody who was involved in the Russia investigation at all, we were harassed,” Nunes (shown above right) told Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

“And look — this is not the way we should operate here in the United States of America,” he emphasized. “People should be frightened of this. Nobody’s going to want to do these jobs if you have to deal with guys like this, right?”

Nunes jubilantly reacted to the Tuesday arrest of Wilfred Michael Stark III, a former Democratic operative for the far-Left American Bridge 21st Century. The group’s founder, David Brock, also launched the liberal attack shop Media Matters for America.

Soros has donated millions of dollars to both groups.

“He actually showed up at the airport one time. So we had to have the Capitol Police come several times because he would harass me, harass our staff.”

An unnamed American Bridge official told CNN, “We have decided to relieve this employee of his duties with American Bridge effective immediately.”

Stark allegedly grabbed, yanked and refused to let go of the arm of Kristin Davison, a staffer on Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt’s (R) gubernatorial campaign.

Nunes said he has personally encountered Stark on numerous occasions.

“This guy in particular actually went to our office numerous times. He would follow me in, he’d get in my face, he’d show up at committee hearings. He even showed up at a place downtown in Washington where I was giving a speech one time,” he said.

Nunes warned that this type of behavior from passionate, professional liberal protesters should worry Americans and should factor into how they vote in the November midterm elections — especially after the treatment Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the GOP senators who voted for him received.

“But look at how many people that maybe are thinking of becoming a judge or Supreme Court judge or run for office — with these lunatics running around like this, funded by billionaires who should know better, this is not the type of activity we want to see in this country,” he said.

Ingraham emphasized the role Soros plays in funding liberal groups that employ protesters like Stark.

“And George Soros — we cannot underestimate the power of his billions of dollars funneling through these David Brock groups and run by David Brock, whether it’s the Media Matters group, or whether it’s this American Bridge group,” Ingraham noted.

Nunes insisted that “something” needs to be done to counteract this aggressive behavior.

“And I think the Democrats — until they’re taught a lesson, they’re not going to change,” he lamented. “They see this working. They see their protesting, their harassment, all of this — they see it as working.”

“I hope it backfires this fall, and I think a lot of people are slowly waking up to the fact that this is not the type of behavior we should have in our political system,” Nunes added.
