If you disagree with leftists today and don’t fit the stereotypes that their myopic minds have come up with, they will simply dismiss you as uneducated and mentally unstable. Welcome to 2018.

Such is the case when it comes to rapper Kanye West, who visited the White House and spoke with President Donald Trump on Thursday afternoon.

West has been vocal in his support of Trump and of right-leaning ideas, which has caused quite a fuss in leftist Hollywood.

One of the worst reactions to West’s recent White House visit came during a segment on CNN, in which host Don Lemon (shown above left) laughed when his guests called the rapper mentally ill and a “Negro” several times. That’s right: He laughed.

Following this week’s meeting between Trump and West — in which they discussed violence in Chicago, mental health treatment, and prison reform — Lemon somehow felt brazen enough to get in front of cameras to call the meeting “hard to watch.”

Plenty of people found the host’s previous segment on West hard to watch. Conservative commentator Candace Owens called it “racist” and “despicable” Wednesday night on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

One of the latest public critics of the segment is now NFL legend Herschel Walker (above right), who has called for CNN to drop Don Lemon.

Walker, 56, won the 1982 Heisman Trophy and played for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Jets during his time in the NFL. He even played for the New Jersey Generals, a team Donald Trump owned in the now defunct United States Football League.

He is also a mixed martial artist.

“Went to bed appalled over @donlemon despicable behavior laughing at @TaraSetmayer and @Bakari_Sellers awful remarks about Kanye West’s visit with @realDonaldTrump!! Woke up wondering why @CNN doesn’t take all three off the air?#SHAMEFUL #CNN,” Walker tweeted this week.

Tara Setmayer, who called West the “token Negro of the Trump administration” during the CNN segment, bit back at Walker and wrote in response, “Bless your heart … You want to silence me because I expressed a different opinion than yours? Because I called out Kanye for what he is? Uninformed! I’m an actual conservative, who’s worked on policy advancing those principles for 20-plus years. I’ll never be a shill for Trump.”

Walker responded by calling both Setmayer and Lemon bullies and shamed them for using the N-word to criticize a black man with whom they disagree.

“No …@TaraSetmayer, anyone that is African American with an opinion different than yours, you want to call them out by using the N-word and @donlemon is laughing?? To me that’s bullying and shameful!!”

The CNN segment from Don Lemon’s show is disgusting and a perfect example of how low and shameless some supposed “commentators” are willing to go when someone challenges their small conception of a certain situation.

It is, however, only one of many examples — sadly — of people working hard to dismiss Kanye West as a thinker, a human being and an artist. Because he challenges stereotypes and is an independent thinker who can’t easily be boxed in or grouped into a “liberal” or “conservative” category, he poses a threat to those who seek to keep this country’s cultural divide going.
