“Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski (pictured above) fielded hot backlash Thursday after pushing Kellyanne Conway to “tell us your story” of sexual assault, which she called “very convenient” to reveal amid allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“So tell us your story. Who is your attacker? Who broke the law? Who hurt you?” Brzezinski said, directing her comments toward the White House counselor, who was not present on the show.

“You say that women should be heard. Their stories are believable or credible and understanding and compelling. Well, let’s hear yours,” Brzezinski demanded. “It’s very convenient to drop that, but I want to know your story. I want to know what happened. You should have justice, shouldn’t you?”

After co-host Joe Scarborough began to interrupt Brzezinski with, “Well…” she refused to give him the floor.

“Hold on, I’m not done,” Brzezinski said before addressing Conway again. “Know your values, OK? You can’t just throw that out as a political dagger to protect this reprehensible predator of a president and make an announcement that you’re the victim of sexual assault, which, therefore, for some reason, makes everybody not ask you about it?”

Brzezinski took issue with Conway’s defense of President Donald Trump’s criticism of Christine Blasey Ford’s account of her alleged 1982 assault at Kavanaugh’s hands, when both were high schoolers in suburban Maryland.

Trump was criticized by liberal journalists, Democrats, and some GOP senators after his remarks, delivered during a rally in Mississippi Tuesday, in which he criticized the gaps in Ford’s sexual assault allegations.

“Thirty-six years ago, this happened,” Trump said as he referred to the high school gathering in suburban Maryland, when Ford claims Kavanaugh assaulted her.

“How did you get home?” Trump said as he imitated Ford’s testimony before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary. “‘I don’t remember.’ How’d you get there? ‘I don’t remember.’ Where is the place? ‘I don’t remember.’ How many years ago was it? ‘I don’t know.'”

Conway defended Trump Wednesday on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” saying, “At the same time, the president is pointing out factual inconsistencies. By Ford’s own testimony, there are gaps in her memory.”

After appearing on Fox News, Conway answered a question from a reporter at the White House regarding whether it was appropriate for Trump to “mock” Ford.

“I see that is the lemming-like word you’re all using together here, but let’s be fair,” Conway retorted. “She’s been treated like a Fabergé egg by all of us, beginning with me and Trump.”

The “Fabergé egg” comment particularly irked Brzezinski.

“Christine Blasey Ford has put herself out there, and she has been enduring the blinding light of questions surrounding her life, her credibility, and her story. And I was really struck by Kellyanne Conway saying that she’s been treated like a Fabergé egg,” Brzezinski said.

“I find that fascinating, actually because Kellyanne Conway went on a Sunday show and in the middle of making her point she announced that she is a victim of sexual assault. Really? Oh, my gosh. OK. Women should be heard, and apparently they get treated like Fabergé eggs,” she added.

Conway told CNN’s Jake Tapper Sunday on “State of the Union” that she was a victim of sexual assault earlier in her life.

“So, I want to ask, why can’t you be the egg, Kellyanne, the Fabergé egg, and tell your story? You say women should be heard. You talk out of both sides of your mouth,” Brzezinski continued. “If women are being treated like Fabergé eggs when they announce their stories, then you go ahead and tell yours and see how easy it is, OK?”

Scarborough said he personally was “glad that when Kellyanne Conway let it slip that she was a victim of sexual assault, that she was treated, she says, like a Fabergé egg. I would just say treated with deference, treated with respect, not mocked by her interviewer.”

MSNBC’s Willie Geist insisted, “It’s up to any woman, as Mika I think would agree, whether or not she wants to come forward and talk about her story with specifics. And that includes Kellyanne Conway.”

Brzezinski replied, “I totally agree that Kellyanne has her time and place to tell her story if she ever wants to. But you can’t throw it out there conveniently if you’re throwing insults at someone who has been brave enough to come forward. And I thought it was incredibly disrespectful and a setback for women.”

But Brzezinski’s words targeting Conway drew backlash on Twitter.

CNN host S.E. Cupp tweeted, “Call me crazy, but bullying an assault victim into telling her ‘convenient’ story bc politics isn’t a good idea.”

“This morning, @morningmika did the very thing that makes sexual assault victims NOT want to tell their stories. She bullied one, questioned her motives and her truthfulness and called her story “convenient.” We must be better than this,” Cupp added.

But Brzezinski fired back on Twitter.

“S.E. You know better than this. That you would defend Kellyanne Conway defending the president for attacking Ford and then you’re going to say that when I call out hypocrisy … That’s why victims don’t want to come out? Shame on you …” Brzezinski wrote.

But Cupp remained firm, replying, “Of course, that’s patently untrue. I’ve never defended [Conway] or the Pres for attacking Ford. The opposite in fact. YOU questioned a woman’s assault story, telling her to spill or she’s lying. Let me be clear: there’s NO shame in my game.”

Even CNN anchor Chris Cuomo criticized Brzezinski, writing in a since-deleted tweet, “Is this fair? Should an alleged victim be forced to come forward?”

But Cuomo retreated after Brzezinski lashed out at him.

“.@ChrisCuomo As a victim of a violent sexual assault myself, I would never force anyone to come forward… You need to actually read and listen to what I said… Might be hard when you’re so quick to tweet,” Brzezinski wrote. “.@ChrisCuomo You have offended me as a competitor and a woman And as a victim of a violent sexual assault. I demand an apology. This is below us. Or at least I thought it was. You should apologize.”

Cuomo deleted the tweet and replied, “deleting this. I am all about engagement and disagreement — but I am not about adding to ha politics and using victims as fodder. Ford was victimized again — by politics. I won’t add to that. I have no fight with Mika or anyone. We must be united on respecting victim.”

Brzezinski accepted Cuomo’s apology and deleted her tweets targeting him.
