Jimmy Kimmel Melts Down Over Wednesday’s Presidential Alert

Hollywood leftists weren’t big fans of the “presidential alert” sent to cellphones on Wednesday afternoon.

Filmmaker Michael Moore, whose anti-Trump documentary “Fahrenheit 11/9” is currently flopping big-time at the box office, went so far in his criticism as to say that the text alert was a sign that democracy is ending.

“It was just a test. But make no mistake about it. This is the world in which we now live. That’s my final line in ‘Fahrenheit 11/9.’ A few minutes ago, Trump gave us a preview of the state of emergency he is creating to justify the end of democracy as we know it. RESIST!” tweeted Moore.

And Jimmy Kimmel joined in on that criticism during his late-night show’s monologue on Wednesday night.

“FEMA today tested out what they’re calling the presidential alert system. I guess it worked because today the president was in everyone’s pants. About 225 million Americans got this text today. It’s kind of funny. Here in the office almost everybody got the text. They’re like, why am I getting texts from the president?” the leftist comedian joked.

He continued, “The few people who didn’t get the text were like, why didn’t I get a text from the president? What is that? Another presidential alert? Oh, all right. Wait a minute. Maybe he thinks he’s texting? I don’t know. I get this might be useful during an emergency, but do we really need this? I already get terrifying presidential alerts on my phone. They’re called the news.”

The text alert sent to phones on Wednesday was from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Its official Twitter page said that the proposed alerts are “meant for use in a national emergency and the only type of WEA (Wireless Emergency Alert) alert that can be sent nationwide by FEMA.”

Let’s face it: It’s hard to believe Kimmel would be making any jokes about this if the system were introduced under the presidency of Barack Obama.

He’d probably be praising it, if that were the case.

The same goes for Moore. Would he really be engaging in fear-mongering and melting down on Twitter about the “end of democracy as we know it” if this presidential alert system had been tested under Barack Obama?

Once again, this boils down to Hollywood leftists looking for absolutely anything to use as ammo against President Donald Trump.

If you can stand it, watch the segment from Jimmy Kimmel’s show in which he tackles the new alert system below:
