Barbra Streisand has a brilliant new reason for people to withhold support from President Donald Trump: He doesn’t own a dog.

“Donald Trump has never owned a dog. What does it say about someone who doesn’t like dogs?” she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

“And of course his sons love killing wild animals for kicks. He’s the first president in 130 years who hasn’t had a dog in the White House…”

Streisand then linked to an article from The Independent about Trump’s not owning a dog.

Genius. Give a round of applause to Streisand for this wonderful and boundary-pushing bit of political commentary.

Instead of focusing on policy decisions and results, she has gone after the real issue when it comes to the president — whether or not he owns a pet.

In this Hollywood leftist’s mind, pet ownership is what determines whether someone is a good person or not.

Streisand displayed her Trump Derangement Syndrome before this dog bit recently by releasing a song called “Don’t Lie to Me,” which took direct aim at the president.

“I just can’t stand what’s going on,” she recently told the Associated Press about the inspiration behind the song.

“His assault on our democracy, our institutions, our founders — I think we’re in a fight … We’re in a war for the soul of America.”

Lyrics for the song include: “How do you sleep when the world keeps turning? All that we built has come undone. How do you sleep when the world is burning? Everyone answers to someone.”

And also: “You can build towers of bronze and gold. You can build castles in the sky. You can use smoke and mirrors, old clichés. Not today, not today.”

The song is part of Streisand’s first collection of original music since 2005.

She has said the state of the world today is what inspired her to begin writing again.

Streisand, 76, is an Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winner. She is best known for songs like “Papa, Can You Hear Me?” and “Evergreen” and films like “A Star Is Born,” which has now been remade by director/actor Bradley Cooper and musician Lady Gaga.

The new film hits theaters this Friday.

Streisand’s new album, appropriately titled “Walls,” will be released on November 2.

There is no word yet on whether there is a song about how people who don’t own dogs are evil.
