Julie Swetnick (pictured above left) tried to further derail Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s (above right) confirmation process during the 11th hour of his Senate confirmation process, when she became the third woman to come forward publicly accusing Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

Christine Blasey Ford was the first accuser to come forward publicly on September 14, after Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) received her allegations anonymously in July and chose not to air them. Ford accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her during a high school party in suburban Maryland some 36 years ago.

The second accuser is Deborah Ramirez, a former Yale classmate who alleged Sunday in The New Yorker that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a drunken dorm party in college.

Kavanaugh has unequivocally denied all of the sexual assault allegations against him. He says he looks forward to defending himself during the Senate Committee on the Judiciary hearing Thursday, where Ford is also scheduled to appear.

As for Swetnick’s most recent allegations, Kavanaugh said in a statement provided by the White House Wednesday, “This is ridiculous and from the Twilight Zone.”

“I don’t know who this is, and this never happened,” Kavanaugh added.

President Trump and other White House officials are still supporting Kavanaugh’s nomination while urging the Senate to conduct a fair investigation and bring Kavanaugh’s confirmation to a vote.

After Swetnick helped upend Kavanaugh’s confirmation so late in the process, here are seven things you absolutely must know about her:

1.) Swetnick now lives in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Gaithersburg High School in Maryland. She also holds degrees in astrophysics and computer science from Montgomery College and the University of Maryland, according to the news website Heavy.

2.) Swetnick has held multiple security clearances in her career, including those with the Department of State, the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, according to the New York Post.

She also claimed in a sworn affidavit sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee that she maintains “active clearances” with the Department of Treasury, the U.S. Mint, and the Internal Revenue Service.

3.) Swetnick wrote in the affidavit that she was raped at one of the 10 high school parties she attended around 1982, even though she graduated from high school in 1980, according to The New York Times.

She alleged that Kavanaugh and Judge would “cause girls to become inebriated and disoriented so they could then be ‘gang-raped’ in a side room or bedroom by a ‘train’ of numerous boys” at those parties.

4.) Swetnick has not claimed that Kavanaugh raped her, although she alleges that both Kavanaugh and one of his friends, Mark Judge, were present at the time.

5.) Porn star lawyer and Democratic activist Michael Avenatti is representing Swetnick. He teased Swetnick’s allegations without revealing her identity for several days before releasing her name the day before Kavanaugh and Ford’s hearing.

Avenatti warned Monday on Twitter, “Warning: My client re Kavanaugh has previously done work within the State Dept, U.S. Mint, & DOJ. She has been granted multiple security clearances in the past including Public Trust & Secret. The GOP and others better be very careful in trying to suggest that she is not credible.”

6.) Swetnick has a record of threatening a former boyfriend, his wife and children to such an extent that he had to get a restraining order against her in a Florida court, according to Politico.

“Right after I broke up with her, she was threatening my family, threatening my wife and threatening to do harm to my baby at that time,” the ex-boyfriend, Richard Vinneccy, told Politico on Wednesday. “I know a lot about her. She’s not credible at all. Not at all.”

Vinneccy reportedly dated Swetnick for four years.

7.) Swetnick has been the subject of litigation as a result of more than $100,000 in unpaid taxes since 2015, according to The Daily Caller: “She settled a $40,303 IRS judgment on March 23 of this year, according to a public records search. Maryland court records show a $62,821 tax lien filed against her on Oct. 2, 2015.”
