President Donald Trump’s former aide David Urban and liberal political commentator Symone Sanders argued over the charges leveled at Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh during a segment with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Tuesday.

Sanders (pictured above left) got the ball rolling by saying, “I think the professor [a reference to Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford] wants all the facts to get out there, because I believe she has credibly come forward, and I believe her. I think the professor is trying to protect what’s left of her reputation, and I don’t think she’s playing politics at all. Look, it takes a whole lot of courage to come forward, to have folks call you a liar,” she added.

Urban (above right) then weighed in.

“I don’t think the professor is playing politics here. I think unfortunately others are playing politics with the professor. I think that when Sen. [Dianne] Feinstein [D-Calif.] got this information in July, she could have questioned Judge Kavanaugh, kind of in camera [in private], in her office —”

Cuomo interrupted. “Hands were tied, she said” — indicating Feinstein’s stated position on questioning Kavanaugh privately.

He continued, obviously irritated, “How’s the FBI a bad thing?”

Urban responded, “It’s not a bad thing, Chris, listen—”

Cuomo again shot back. “Just do me a favor. How’s the FBI a bad situation?”

After more crosstalk, Urban asked Cuomo to let him have his say, noting, “I don’t like what you say half the time, and I listen politely.”

Urban then continued, “This entire process has been incredibly politicized, to the detriment of both Professor Ford and Judge Kavanaugh. It’s not fair to either of them. Listen, I do think both parties, both sides, would love to get to the truth. What is that truth?”

He added, “So they’re going to have an FBI investigation. They’re going to sit down under oath in front of the FBI and tell the exact same story they’ve told the media,” Urban said. “It doesn’t seem like anybody has a specific recollection of where, what, when, and who was there. They’re not going to go back and dust forensically. This isn’t [the television show] ‘CSI,’ where they have a conclusion in 20 minutes.”

Urban concluded his thought: “What do you think they’re going to end up with?”

Sanders chimed in, “The truth, the facts.”
