A Montana restaurant reportedly has canceled a campaign rally scheduled to take place there next week.

Donald Trump Jr. had planned to stump for GOP Senate candidate Matt Rosendale at the event.

Rosendale, who serves as state auditor for Montana, is running against Democratic Sen. Jon Tester and libertarian candidate Rick Breckenridge in the November midterm election.

Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, had been set to attend the political event at the Midtown Tavern in Bozeman on September 25, according to the Huffington Post.

The venue’s management has canceled the booking.

“We definitely don’t want to take political sides. That’s never our intention,” manager Jeff Wilcox said, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.

“That’s just not who we are. We just try to stay politically neutral. We’re a restaurant.”

The business reportedly had no idea the booking was for a political event until Rosendale’s campaign officially announced it this week, KURL8 Montana reported, citing multiple sources.

The campaign is looking for an alternative venue for the rally.

In today’s polarized political environment, many are loathe to get involved with any Trump-related activities. Others are blunt about their opposition to the Trump administration.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was kicked out of a restaurant in Virginia in June because she’s employed by the Trump White House, in a disturbing incident that was widely reported.

Sanders explained on Twitter that the owner of The Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia, told her she had to “leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left.”

Likewise, Kirstjen Nielsen, the secretary of Homeland Security, was heckled and hassled during an evening meal at a Mexican restaurant, also back in June.

Liberal firebrand Sen. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) caused an uproar in late June, when she advocated for accosting Trump administration officials and hassling them wherever they might be.

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere. We’ve got to get the children connected to their parents,” Waters said.

For his part, Trump Jr. has been a vocal advocate for his father’s administration, often sharing views and updates on social media.

Recently he weighed in on the Kavanaugh sexual assault accusations.
