It should come as no surprise at all that Hollywood’s most outspoken leftists were throwing their support behind the sexual misconduct allegations lodged against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh almost from the moment accuser Christine Blasey Ford began speaking on Thursday morning before members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Ford (pictured above left) gave a statement to gathered lawmakers and described in detail the alleged sexual assault she says she experienced at the hands of both Brett M. Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge.

The alleged events took place in 1982 when Ford was 15 years old.

“I did not want to tell my parents that I, at age 15, was in a house without any parents present, drinking beer with boys. I convinced myself that because Brett did not rape me, I should just move on and just pretend that it had never happened,” Ford said as she explained why she did not report the incident at the time.

She said the alleged assault “drastically” altered her life for a “very long time.”

She said she was “too afraid and ashamed to tell anyone these details.”

Ford is one of multiple women to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.

The Supreme Court nominee has vigorously denied the allegations.

President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind Kavanaugh and called allegations against the nominee “one big fat con job.”

Hollywood’s most outspoken leftists, true to form, jumped to social media to convey their support for Ford and to condemn Kavanaugh.

“Her testimony is terrifying and heartrending. She says they laughed while It was happening,” author Stephen King wrote on Twitter while Ford was testifying.

Controversial anti-Trumper and comedian Kathy Griffin also tweeted about the event and attempted to tell a joke, saying, “Anyone else watching this with their husband or boyfriend by their side?”

She added, “My boyfriend is slowly inching away for me for his own safety. He just keeps saying ‘I’m on your side! I’m on your side!'”

She also later insulted Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) by suggesting he is a woman.

“Oh lookee lookee here. Miss Lindsey Graham doesn’t have the b**** to speak up today does she?” she wrote crudely.

“Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes also joined in the conversation and said “decency and ethics” were needed in the case of Ford.

“It is not a question of believing her. It is a question of whether politics will trump decency and ethics,” she wrote on Twitter.

Actress Alyssa Milano, who attended the hearings as a guest of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), also took to Twitter to show support for Ford.
