Bradley Blakeman, the former president of Freedom’s Watch (shown above left) and liberal radio host Richard Fowler (above right) testily spoke over each other during a chaotic segment Wednesday on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” over whether Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser should testify before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
“I think [Christine Blasey Ford] is being used by the Democratic Party for, again, their resistance against [President] Donald Trump and this nominee to thwart his nomination, to delay it, to derail it,” said Blakeman, who served in former President George W. Bush’s administration.
“It is not going to work.”
Fowler, a Fox News contributor, chimed in: “We have to view this whole entire process with clear eyes and carefully. Both Judge Kavanaugh and professor Ford deserve due process.”
“And I would urge Republicans if they want to retain the United States Senate — having seven men question a woman who is making bombshell allegations is not a good look. It’s not good for the party.”
The segment then descended into chaos when Blakeman spoke over Fowler, insisting, “It’s not about the look. It’s about the Constitution and honoring the process.”
Fowler argued, “She deserves to be heard.”
“She was heard,” Blakeman replied.
Fowler insisted, “She was not.”
Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer finally regained control when he asked Fowler about Kavanaugh’s right to testify and to be heard.
Ford derailed the final days of Kavanaugh’s Senate confirmation process when she publicly accused him this past Sunday of sexually assaulting her some 36 years ago at a party in Maryland, when they were both teens in high school.
He has vigorously denied such a thing ever occurred.
Ford initially detailed her allegations to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) in July through her congresswoman, Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (D-Calif.), wishing to remain anonymous at the time.
The Senate Judiciary Committee’s vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation initially was delayed until after Kavanaugh and Ford had the chance to testify publicly.
Although Kavanaugh agreed to testify on September 24, Ford is now refusing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee’s “interrogation” about her sexual assault allegations until the FBI conducts a “full investigation,” her lawyers revealed Tuesday.
Kavanaugh has “categorically and unequivocally” denied Ford’s accusations, saying he has “never done anything like what the accuser describes — to her or to anyone.”
Fowler said that Kavanaugh “deserves the right to be heard. He deserves the right to face his accuser and do it under oath. We know the Judiciary Committee on both sides is partisan.”

When Fox News anchor Sandra Smith asked if Ford’s insistence on waiting for an FBI investigation prior to testifying is a “reasonable request,” Blakeman replied, “She is not entitled to determine the rules of the Senate or the Constitution.”
“She is given an opportunity. Either she takes it or she doesn’t. But she should not hijack the process,” Blakeman warned.
Fowler interjected, saying, “This is exactly why Republicans have a problem with white suburban women.”
Blakeman rebuffed the idea: “No. That has nothing to do with white suburban women.”
Hemmer finally got a word in, saying, “You guys are sitting too far apart from each other for a reason.”
