Donald Trump Jr. used an image to capture his feelings about one of the hottest topics of the moment right now: the accusations against Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh by a young woman regarding actions that may or may not have happened over 30 years ago, when they were both in high school in the Washington, D.C., area.

Trump Jr. called the allegations “nonsense games,” as Mediaite reported.

“Oh boy … the Dems and their usual nonsense games really have him on the ropes now,” Trump Jr. wrote in the caption.

“[Feinstein] had the letter in July and saved it for the eve of his vote … honorable as always. I believe this is a copy for full transparency.”

He finished the post with a #MAGA (Make America Great Again) hashtag ‚ and a #politics hashtag.

The picture compared the allegations about Kavanaugh by Christine Blasey Ford during their high school years to a handwritten note, in crayon, in which a teenage Kavanaugh supposedly asks someone to be his girlfriend.

The social media outrage was swift.

Lynne Patton, a senior Housing and Urban Development official, responded to the post with a laughing face and two raised hands emojis.

Trump Jr. may in fact be channeling the impatience of many over the timing of the release of the sexual assault allegations.

Many people feel the accusation is politically motivated, as the Democrats seek to find a way to derail Kavanaugh’s nomination to the high court.

Ford, Kavanaugh’s accuser, has publicly discussed her claims, telling The Washington Post that Kavanaugh “groped her over her clothes, grinding his body against hers and clumsily attempting to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she wore over it.”

Kavanaugh categorically denied such a thing ever happened.

Patton released a statement on Monday defending her comment on Instagram.

“This was not an attempt to diminish sexual assault. To the contrary, my post was in response to the hypocrisy highlighted by @DonaldJTrumpJr inasmuch that @SenFeinstein concealed Ms. Ford’s letter for 2 mos, releasing it only when the timing best suited her own. True exploitation.”

Since he posted the photo, Trump Jr. reportedly also “liked” a since-deleted tweet calling the Kavanaugh allegations a “lynching,” noted Mediaite.

Meanwhile, the allegations against the SCOTUS nominee may be having some effect (although this is a fast-moving story): Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) has signaled he may be getting cold feet on Kavanaugh’s nomination in the wake of allegations.

Flake told The Washington Post on Sunday that he supports postponing a vote scheduled for Thursday in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“I’ve made it clear that I’m not comfortable moving ahead with the vote on Thursday if we have not heard her side of the story or explored this further,” he said.

A few other Republican senators have expressed apprehension as well.

Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said he supports a delay — and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) told CNN that it is something the committee should consider.
