One of Hollywood’s few outspoken conservatives was locked out of his Twitter account on Friday for the posting of a months-old meme that Twitter said violated its terms of service.

Two-time Academy Award nominee James Woods (“Ray Donovan,” “Videodrome”) posted a picture of three liberal, young and feminine-looking men to his Twitter account with a caption that read, “We’re making a Woman’s Vote Worth more by staying home.”

Woods wrote with the meme, “Pretty scary there is a distinct possibility this could be real. Not likely, but in this day and age of absolute liberal insanity, it is at least a possibility.”

A screenshot from Woods’ associate Sara Miller indicates that Twitter locked Woods out of his account and told him that the meme contained “text and imagery that has the potential to be misleading in a way that could impact the election.”

Woods has over 1.7 million followers on the social media platform.

In order to unlock his account, Twitter informed Woods in an email to him that he needed to delete the meme.

Woods made it clear that he has no intention of doing so.

“You are a coward, @jack [Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey]. There is no free speech for Conservatives on @Twitter,” he said in a public statement.

Twitter has indeed been accused of bias against conservatives many times in the past.

As if to prove an earlier point by Woods, Twitter’s decision follows statements from the conservative actor that the recent social media banning of conspiracy theorist and Trump supporter Alex Jones and his media company InfoWars was a “slippery slope.”

“I’ve never read Alex Jones nor watched any of his video presence on the internet,” the actor wrote on Twitter. “A friend told me he was an extremist. Believe me that I know nothing about him. That said, I think banning him from the internet is a slippery slope. This is the beginning of real fascism. Trust me.”

Jones and his InfoWars videos have been banned from sites such as YouTube and Twitter. The companies often cite “hate speech” as their reasoning, though his supporters and many conservatives have contested this censoring and the loose definition applied to terms like “hate speech” these days.

Woods says he has faced backlash for his views before. Though he’s starred in films for directors as diverse as Oliver Stone and Martin Scorsese, Woods’ acting opportunities have slowed as he’s gotten more outspoken through social media about his political views.

He has stated on many occasions that this is because he is essentially blacklisted in the industry for being a right-of-center thinker.
