Attorney Michael Avenatti has been aggressively promoting at least one client he claims has damaging information against high court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh — but now says the client may not come forward when he promised she would.

Then Avenatti locked his Twitter public profile, as Breitbart reported.

After days of media appearances in which the attorney best known for representing porn star Stormy Daniels touted the news that he has a “100-percent credible” accuser against Kavanaugh, Avenatti now appeared to backtrack in a Tuesday morning tweet.

“Let me be clear: We will disclose the client’s name and accusations only when SHE is ready and we have adequate security measures in place. And not a moment before that,” he wrote (see the tweet embedded in another tweet, below).

“It is her choice and hers alone as to when to surface bc it is her life. We expect it within the next 36 hrs.”

For his part, Brett Kavanaugh defended himself strongly Monday night in a Fox News interview on “The Story with Martha MacCallum.”

Seated next to his wife, Ashley, the nominee appeared solemn and resolute.

“I did not have sexual intercourse or anything close to sexual intercourse in high school or for many years, thereafter,” he said to host Martha MacCallum.

The interview is part of a counteroffensive by Kavanaugh’s team in the wake of thinly supported 11th-hour allegations about events that supposedly happened more than three decades ago and now threaten his nomination.

For his part, during a Monday night interview on CNN, Avenatti disputed what he termed the Supreme Court nominee’s “absolutely unbelievable” claims about his past sexual activity on Fox News.

“I think the American people are smarter than this,” Avenatti told CNN’s Chris Cuomo.

“I don’t believe that America is going to believe what Brett Kavanaugh just stated on Fox News.”

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders also jumped into the conversation, lecturing Democrats on Tuesday for exploiting women who level sexual assault allegations for what she termed “political gain,” during an interview on ABC News’ “Good Morning America.”

“I think that the way that [Democrats] have operated in this is absolutely appalling,” Sanders told ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos.

“If anything has been appalling, it’s the way that they have gone after and used these people’s stories and their lives and exploited them for political gain.”
