President Donald Trump heads to Evansville, Indiana, to speak tonight at 7 p.m. (CST) at the Ford Center in the downtown area. Area media report that local police predict a capacity crowd and are encouraging attendees to arrive before the doors open at 4 p.m. (CST).

“We anticipate people being down here for the visit well before four o’clock,” Evansville Police spokesman Jason Cullum told the Evansville Courier & Press.

Trump can be expected to respond to CNN’s puzzling decision to stand by its recent story claiming the president knew in advance of the Trump Tower meeting in 2016 of his then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort, son-in-law Jared Kushner, and son Donald Trump Jr. with an infamous Russian lawyer.

The lawyer had promoted the meeting with a promise of providing material critical of Trump’s Democratic opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. But when the meeting actually convened, the Russian lawyer wanted only to talk about U.S. economic sanctions on certain individuals close to Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.
